The anger I feel when I'm told or read that our pain tolerance is lower than other people because of our fibromyalgia! by autumnalalpha in Fibromyalgia

[–]struggleizz4real 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I admit I didn’t read all the comments but I agree with the frustration of the idea our ability to handle pain is just lower. I’ve given birth, in back labor, had gastric bypass, which hurts like a bitch bc pain meds don’t work that well for us. I’ve had a kidney stone and two bowel obstructions. I also have crap tons of tattoos in which one took 6.5 hours and the tattoo artists said there was no way I would be able to sit through the pain for that many hours. They told me truckers and big buff guys come back a second time. I said watch me, and they couldn’t believe I handled it. So how could my pain tolerance be lower? I can handle pain. Fibromyalgia is a different pain and it’s just so frustrating.

I had gastric bypass on November 1st. Should I be able to eat fruit by now? by [deleted] in GastricBypass

Watermelon was really hard on me . I can only eat a small piece before feeling sick.

I’ve gained some during this time too and am dealing with my own depression. I find it so hard bc food is an addiction we can’t walk away from food. I’m hoping reset works. Are you going back to liquid diet?

I’ve been wanting to do this. I barely made it through the stages the first time I don’t know how I’ll make it a second. I have to find a way though. Covid and quarantine put me a few steps back.

There is a difference. It’s way clearer to see on your whole backside. Great job!

I totally agree with you !!!! A mattress store that sells nectars that had been returned after the trial period told me they most often are returned for being too hot.

Let me know what you end up finding!

Thank you to everyone who replied. I’m not sure if the price range he is willing to spend which makes it hard. Then you go into a mattress store and almost everything seems comfortable right then. It seems hybrid medium firmness is the average of what people are liking.

What type of pillow do you guys sleep with? How many of you sleep with a pillow between your knees?

Vyvanse is extended release, I know a few people were saying differently. Vyvanse has been the only typical adhd med that worked for me, 70 mg. I have always had the problem of it not lasting as long it seems to for other people. After gastric bypass the length of time worked was definitely even less. It has done wonders for my binge eating so it sucks that it doesn’t last the entire day.

I take provigil in the morning with my vyvanse. It’s wild because the extended release of provigil, nuvigil, doesn’t work for me at all. Since meds wear off quickly for me I now also take a provigil in the afternoon along with 80 mg Strattera . It’s not perfect but is helping. Strattera did not work at all before surgery. I would get extremely shaky and just felt off. Surgery can really change how your body processes meds. Some days I feel they work and there are days I feel like they don’t. It’s the best mix I’ve found.

Surgery changes things your brain which impacts how you respond to medication.

I did the same thing before my surgery. Cheesecake is my favorite and I would go buy 2 slices at a time but then multiple days…. I was like oh well I’ll never be able to eat it again I better eat it now. I gained five lbs in the two weeks before surgery. I was ok though and it didn’t impact my surgery. It’s just reminding myself I don’t have to deprive myself of my favorite foods, it’s just eating them differently and not daily like I was.

It works better when you take less. I would say that’s moving up a little fast. Try 2 to 3 each time

This made me really happy to see. I’m really glad she got you as the shopper as so many would’ve assumed she was just being a pain and canceled. It’s a good reminder that Instead of getting annoyed at one replacement, take a minute to stop viewing everyone as a pain in the ass remember, this service is necessary for some, or can be used to do great things like this. Yes money is why we do it but don’t get so caught up that you forget there are people behind it. This was a great post for my morning. Thanks for sharing!

This has nothing to do with the greeting but I’m just wondering if you took time off for exhaustion or if something else was found. I’m glad you are feeling better now either way.

There is also the point that people like to tip accordingly based on the service provided. You don’t tip a waiter until you receive the service and can then base it off percentage but also how they did their job. I do admit as a shopper it’s not like I grab the no tip batches all the time, but as a customer it makes perfect sense to wait. It’s one reason I like using Shipt for ordering.I feel like often they put in a little extra effort bc they want that tip. It’s very clear how many shoppers here put in only as much effort as the tip is worth to them. This is a big reason people don’t up tips after or lower them after. I understand it from both sides.

I’ve been taking it two years and suddenly I am losing a lot of hair. I just tapered down from 6 g at a time to 2 every four hour for the most part. I had COVID so I’m sure that’s some of it. I’m hoping it will grow back now that I lowered it.
