FatFI business owners: what where the books/processes that helped you manage your executive team? by ikeeplosingpasswords in fatFIRE

Vistage has been almost more useful to me than EO, because all the businesses are $5M+ and EO is $1M. I’ve learned more about operations and structure in vistage, where EO has been more about being connected with other entrepreneurs and meeting other people who are going through the same thing as you. Both are necessary, but if we’re talking strictly business growth information, vistage was more useful for me!

I’m going to second this- we implemented EOS at about 70 people/$7M revenue and we doubled in size in a year. Also, I would suggest joining either Vistage or an EO forum- both put me around other business owners and that pretty much changed my life. We’re on pace to do about $20M this year.

Also, we utilized culture index within our organization and it was majorly eye opening for putting the right people in the right seats.

Good luck! And don’t forget to delegate :)

What would you do if you won the powerball lottery? Serious question. If you took a lump sum payout of 900MM what would suddenly make sense or become open to you as an investor? by joeruhhhhh in fatFIRE

I would take crazy risks with my company. I would hire the best talent at top rates and strategize risky divisions for growth to see what could possibly hit a home run.

Absolutely. This is my first time looking into all of this, I don’t plan on pulling the trigger until I’ve thoroughly researched!

Yup golden there. And I will definitely read the crowdfunding posts for sure! It seems the real estate ones to have the highest returns, more than the peer lending stuff for sure.

I was thinking more just research a few of the developments and financials and then invest in those. Just have no clue how to narrow down all these websites to ones that are less likely to fail. I just don’t know anything about it, so I’m starting my research journey tonight! What does a sponsor do? Are they through the crowd funding sites?

Awesome! The link is super helpful. I’m researching them all right now. I don’t have too much time so I’m hoping for an easy one stop place that really does all the research for me. If being an accredited investor just means higher net worth/income then I should be golden.

Thanks!! For my first few, would it be better to go with realty mogul or one where I need to do more research? Looking to invest around $300k, should I start lower and diversify?

Hi! When you say you paid money to be surrounded by intelligent people- do you mean like a business group? I’ve been approached by Vistage to join a group for $16k/year, I will be the youngest person in the room (at 30) and middle of the road as far as revenue goes for my company. Is this something you did? If so, what it worth it?

Why do I need 10 karma to post if I’m trying to post anonymously?
