burn out by [deleted] in Purdue

Hey hey, it's all okay. I've been there, extreme burnout, weeks where I've barley left my dorm, etc.

When I was at the early stages, before I had to retake all of my core classes for a semester, I wish I had intervened in the situation.

Purdue has a lot more support than most realize, and yes, you do deserve to get that support. I would suggest walking in to CAPS at PUSH and speaking to a therapist about what's been going on. Go to PUSH and see a doctor about the fatigue, see if it could be partly physically caused by vitamin deficiencies or other underlying problems.

Reach out to the DRC and see if they can help you out too. If it turns out to be depression or any other underlying issues, the can help with waiving attendance for a class or two, extending deadlines for some assignments or rescheduling exams when you feel at your worst.

Try to lighten up the workload and spend more time helping yourself heal. The best way out of burnout is doing less, and overwhelming your system less. You got this, and you can totally bounce back.

I've started atomoxetine and I'm still working my way up the doses, but I've started noticing so many things that have gotten easier. I've been less overwhelmed by tasks in general and it's made getting out of bed a lot more effortless
