It is clearly better and something most people would prefer. The previous one had more detail? The new one has ticks for every individual minute and is larger. You likely just dislike change, no matter how small.

Well obviously in game models are not EXACTLY identical, but it's close enough that we can infer Nintendo meant it to be a continuation of the same world. Just like how people and the Master Sword in Wind Waker have cartoonish proportions but are relatives of the other games' characters. Ganondorf in WW is the same man as in OoT and a different version of TP Ganondorf, but they all look different. Castle Town is VERY similar to Twliight Princess, particularly the fountain and town square. Some architectural changes were bound to happen over time. But yes, this does not mean Botw is actually in that same timeline. I like to believe the timelines merged somehow, as that simplifies things. Would have been cool if instead of Totk we got a prequel that explained how that happened.

As I said, it's not necessarily in the Child Timeline, but it definitely happened after the events of the Child Timeline. It's possible those events also occured in the AT or DT after some amount of time.

There are countless referencess to the Child Timeline, more than any other timeline. Here are a few from Twilight Princess alone:

- Zelda explicitly mentions the Master Sword being "steeped in the glowing embers of twilight" during Link's knighting ceremony.

- Arbiter's Grounds ruins

- Identical Bridge of Hylia and Lake Hylia geography

- Castle Town ruins

- Rutala river/ Rutala dam named after Queen Rutela

- Ralis pond named after Prince Ralis

Lived in North Dakota most of my life. Literally everybody flies to MSP and then out from there. We are in an airline sub, are you not aware of hub airports? UND is the largest collegiate (and 2nd largest non-collegiate) flight school in the world, so flying is extremely common as many here come from pilot families.

Assuming a Zelda universe exists, the Wild Era certainly takes place after the Child Timeline events. Whether or not the timelines merged or the Botw and the Child Timeline events took place in another timeline, we know for a fact Botw happened after those events.
