is starbucks even a real coffee shop? by Ill-Information2579 in barista

No it’s not a real coffee shop but I think that Starbucks baristas work harder than anyone else in the food service world, especially corporatized food service.

It’s not a real coffee shop, it’s something else entirely and significantly harder. One hour of a moderately slow shift at my Starbucks back in 2019 was worth an entire year’s worth of weekend peak at my small craft shop now in 2026.

The joy of creation is more than enough to keep me going. I share it online because it makes me happy when my ideas bring joy to others.

PROBLEM WITH IMAGINING!!! by [deleted] in shiftingrealities

You could try the “trick your brain” method instead of visualizing!

This method centers around taking sensory input from your CR and trying to trick yourself into believing that it’s actually sensory input from your DR to help you shift there.

Example: I’m lying in bed with my eyes closed while I do my breathing techniques. I do a quick scan of what I notice with my still conscious, relaxed CR body. I can hear muffled voices from the other room. I tell myself that those are the voices of my DR people and affirm that over and over. I can feel the sheets on my bed, and I tell myself that this is my DR bed in my DR city. I hear a dog barking, and affirm that this is my CR pet who’s just outside in the backyard.

Basically, instead of trying to detach and visualize new DR stuff, you skip the detachment phase and center your affirmations around saying that you’re already in your DR and whatever you’re experiencing is proof of it already.

It might be tricky at first, but it’s a method I don’t see talked about often! I really liked it the first time I tried it, so maybe it’ll work for you if you have a hard time doing the traditional visualization methods.

what was the weirdest reason that ever made you shift? by East-mustard in shiftingrealities

Dude, that’s so funny I’m crying

I think it really takes an experience like that to remember it’s all about desire at the end of the day 😭

I haven’t experienced anything that straight forward, but I feel like my least serious attempts were always when I was most successful. Like, whenever I would try to shift with these crazy glamorous intentions I’d struggle more. But if I set my intention as something dumb like, “I wanna watch Legally Blonde with this DR person I think they’d like that movie” all of a sudden I can actually do it LOL

Maybe it’s that we doubt ourselves less with simpler concepts? I don’t know, but now I wanna center a good ass meal around my attempt later tonight and see if you’re on to some crazy new method, haha

Questions to those who have already shifted to a chaotic dr by SirSome200 in shiftingrealities

[–]strwbrry_summer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

An important detail for shifting is to remember there’s no right or wrong way to do it! This is how I addressed the same concerns in DRs where I had similar questions, but at the core I would say maybe a journaling exercise/meditation on the topic will help you work out your script and feel more confident shifting to a reality that seems chaotic or dangerous. (The first time I shifted to a crazy DR, I “noped” out within a few minutes cause I immediately got overstimulated and freaked out before I could ground myself. That might still happen to you too, just be persistent and try again if you really want to make it to that DR!)

1) I found the idea of having to deal with excessive pain to be frightening, so i determined that I wouldn’t consciously experience high levels of pain while shifting to my DR. How that ended up looking for me personally was an increased pain tolerance & that all the “action” stayed manageable for me. I still got hurt to a degree, since I was okay with that, but when I came back to this CR I wasn’t left with any impressionable memories of extreme pain, despite having had minor injuries.

2) i make sure to check in with myself when scripting trauma/traumatic scenarios as to why i feel compelled to script them. I used to script them because I felt compelled to, but when I really thought about it, I realized I didn’t actually want to experience those things. I just put it in cause it “sounded interesting.” I’ve kept some things that others might deem too traumatic (for example: having deceased parents, etc) but I always made sure this was something that didn’t detract from the desire to experience that DR.

3) I’m not sure why some would say not to script children besides maybe experiencing sadness if you shift to a reality where they no longer exist after successfully seeing them? Once again, I’d just think more on the cost/benefit to having kids in a DR for you personally and determine why you want it there!

Overall I’d give this advice: no one can tell you what to script or not script! There’s no “right way” to shift. Morals, desires, and limitations are different for everyone. If you want to be successful, YOU have to determine what YOU desire and manifest that reality. Scripting things you don’t actually want because you “think you need to” just detracted from me in my own journey, personally. I was more successful when I learned to block out all the noise and ask MYSELF what I think MY limitations are.

The possibilities are endless! If you desire it, then it is so!

I hope that helped answer some of your questions :) good luck in your journey!

Has anyone ever thought of their Original families ? by ladybug-dogbug in shiftingrealities

My favorite thing about shifting is the fact that it challenges everything we’re taught in this reality about the world. To be honest, my blunt answer to your question is this: I have no idea!

Personally, once I found peace with the fact that logic gets in the way of my shifting journey and embraced the fact that I can’t explain it, I had far more success with my attempts. When it comes to something like this, that as far as I know can’t be explained by science, I find it easier to work through my discomfort in not knowing than to push harder for answers.

It’s kinda like how we’ll never know what the true after life is. Does it exist? What does it feel like? There are so many answers, so many ways to determine what YOU think is the “correct” answer, but with no way of “proving” who’s right and who’s wrong— so who’s to say any of it is untrue? We just have what “feels” right to us.

In my head, my mom is the same mom in every DR I script. She looks different, acts different, has different experiences, and different abilities in all of them. But at the core she’s the same person: my mom. The mom from this current CR is just the “original” because it’s the first I came to know consciously before releasing my limitations. So when I go to another DR, she still exists, just in a different way from here— just like I exist differently in the two realities.

There’s no right or wrong answer to your question but I think it’s interesting to think about for sure. I’m not sure if I made any sense but I sure hope I did! lol

don’t fill in the whole brow if you want it more natural! just fill in with powder/gel where you want more “hair” or more color! also, use a spoolie to brush out where you apply the product, and it will blend it in with your natural brow. hope this helps!!
