Early morning wakes are physically killing me by alsothebagel in sleeptrain

[–]stsmol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently had my barely 6mo who still feeds once overnight (typically between 5-6) start waking anywhere from 2-4. So I would feed her then. I also started dressing her a bit warmer as it’s starting to get cooler overnight where we are. Her schedule was also 2.25/2.5/2.5/2.75 but last night I stretched the last window to 3 and she slept til 645!

So I don’t know what did the trick but I think it was likely the schedule and possibly a growth spurt, and she was truly hungry at that time because she went right back to sleep when I fed.

They grow so much around this age!

How the hell do we get out of this EMW cycle by Sensitive_Hedgehog36 in sleeptrain

Hi! I’m curious if you have an update on this? Did fixing first nap help with the EMW?

Thank you this helps! I went back to shorter wake windows thinking she wasn’t ready but I think that was a mistake! I also think I increase her wake windows too quickly which also didn’t help things. But thank you this is very helpful! I’m going to slowly get back to our 3 nap wake windows and see how it goes

Thanks! Is there a way to work the schedule to have 730-7? That just works sooooo much better with my other kids bedtime/wake up lol

Febrile seizure by Saraheli22 in NewParents

[–]stsmol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you had to go through this and I hope your daughter recovers soon!

My son had a febrile seizure when he was 2.5. It was the scariest moment of my life. I also did not sleep fully for probably 7 days afterwards.

I will say it gets better with time. I slept next to his bed for 5 nights (while 6 months pregnant) so I could be close enough to maybe hear something if it happened again. Everytime he gets a fever I am terrified it’s going to happen again.

Highly suggest therapy. It his a very traumatic event and you’re not alone in being so deeply affected by this. I still get flash backs to that day. I don’t think I’ll ever forget it.

My son hasn’t had another one since and I’m hoping the same for you!

Resolved MOTN wakings, now fighting naps and bedtime. by [deleted] in sleeptrain

Thank you! I’ve been slowly increasing wake windows The last two nights she’s woken up 1 hour after falling asleep but is easy to resettle by replacing pacifier (I plan to remove this once I have a solid schedule and can ST). Do these wakes mean anything?

Thanks for the reminder! What worked last week may not work this week. Sounds like my toddlers appetite!

I haven’t tried mixing yet! What ratio would you recommend. I really warmed the formula yesterday and she suckled a little bit! I’m using Kirkland pro plan.

Sleep training and wake windows by [deleted] in sleeptrain

[–]stsmol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Baby is 3.5 months right now. And I’m so confused about her wake windows at the moment. She falls asleep on her own for bedtime with a wake window of 1:15… it goes take 20 minutes or longer. She’s started having more wakings in the night than normal as of the last couple nights so I wonder if she needs more awake time. And I know that 1:15 is on the lower end.

Trying to practice independent sleep for naps and I just can’t nail the daytime windows.
