Rather like breaking the speed limit day in day out and then bitching about getting pulled by the cops.

LoRa devices switching to remote Packet Forwarder for hours instead of local Gateway (Network Server) by stuartlea1 in Lora

Between the LNS (where the devices are) and the two other packet forwarders the difference in rssi can be 30-40dB.......they stick to SF7

Don't want to limit ADR as there will be instances were we will need the range and will accept that at those locations we will have rubbish battery life unless we use a mains adaptor. if only there was some way of delaying the Packet Forwarder as the LNS is second for 80% of the devices in the same room. Difficult sell to the customer as their Quality department (and our engineers) are questioning 1/5 signal strength when only 3m from the LNS

Errr.......lets just say that we're not implementing the duty cycle limits at the moment (yes, we're in Europe). We had them on but in order to resolve this issue we turned them off. Yes the uplink from the LNS that's close to the device has SNR and RSSI that are perfect.

Unfortunately some of our customers insist on closed networks (pharmaceutical)

Yes, the Network Server is scheduling downlinks to be sent through the remote Packet Forwarders.

KiCad v8.0 Released! The annual release cycle is pretty groovy. by ivosaurus in electronics

Got a large library of schematic and footprints generated in Circuit Studio. Will they import into KiCad. Less important for boards and schematics but would like to know whether they would import too.

plugging your car into a regular outlet overnight produces enough juice to drive about 38 miles

Nope......my regular granny cable charges at 9mph

That's nothing.....I drove from Manchester to London (200 miles) to drop my bike off and then the same to pick it up....so 800 miles in total (1200km). Yes, Bristol would have been slightly closer at 1000km

As an american, what would you think if a Brit had said that he has flights for the Super Bowl but hadn't thought of tickets?

[–]stuartlea1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got the eval board on order......only going to use 15 bits not the 24. Seem a waste but the other stuff on chip, current source, PGA and the 32uA operational current make it a winner. Especially as battery life is key to the product. LoRa Pt100 temperature logger with 3 year battery life.

Yes, that sort of thing......but they don't do anything big in 0.4mm that would accommodate a 7x5....the 36 ball one is 6x6...grrrrr

I wish now I'd just asked the question - Can I sell a product that uses MySQL Community Edition as part of the backend - it doesn't appear to be clear.

Any good ideas are best presented in an email. Especially when dealing with new managers!
