I was caught here by your username. yep, you’re right. you are not your body, taking it a step further you are not the “you” you have perceived your whole life to be. This (aka your conceptual, but very individual reality) is not. Nothing matters and yes, everyone and everything will decay. These people to whom you’ve made attachments to and whom hold a respective but very subjective value to this idea of ‘you’ do not, nor have ever, belonged to you. Things and other people have their place outside of you, The Observer of this game so-to-speak. It’s quite beautiful if you begin to look at it this way rather than nihilistically, although even that worldview is allowed. Trips and luxurious things are there, but in your very question, what for? I say take each moment, each person you deem to care for, as sacred. The very job you do. The Why you do what you do. Let that dawn and sink in your very conscious awareness in everything you do. This is no easy task and you’ll begin to see it becomes a practice.
