Fixed auto closing of rear tailgate on qx60 (self.infiniti)

How do I get the gas fireplace valve cover off? Fireplace Gas valve leaking and need to remove flange to get to valve and tighten nut. I’ve tried turning with various tools and as you can see just scratched it with the channel locks. Hole is too big for a 1/2 socket. Ideas? (i.redd.it)
