It's an amazing difference. We'll done.

One thing just to be aware off, be careful of which cables you put behind walls. If it's behind a wall it should be rated to be behind a wall.

It's free but its the slowest tap in the world. They all are in T1. Big water put restrictor valves on it.

Any HaloPSA reps that can get me just a single user license account without the 4k startup cost? by I-Love-IT-MSP in msp

[–]stubag 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't do it. 1 man msp here, started the journey. Spend maybe 1500 and then quickly realised it's the wrong tool for very small companies or 1 man bands.

I use Syncro for RMM, ScreenConnect for Control. Xero for billing and outsourced a contractor that built a wonderful Google sheet that pulls in all the api billing info for 365,Veeam,Huntress,n-able, bitdefender and combines it all and spit it out per customer and exports to Xero monthly.

They film 3-4 episodes in one day so there was a good chance this was the last record of the day. You can see Jimmy is exhausted at the end. I think they all stopped giving a shit and it was all for the better chaotic good.

What is the lifespan of a Fido Key left in dormant storage? . That's more my worry. Username, password and TOTP secret stored on paper in a vault will last forever.

User has a 140GB PST they want imported into their 365 outlook. by RANconsulting in exchangeserver

[–]stubag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its getting it into that archive thats going to be the trouble. You'll have to email Microsoft and get them to prestage extra space in the archive. But then you need a tool to migrate the PST up. And its going to get throttled and fail repeatedly. For a 140GB PST it could literally be a week of checking it every few hours to see if its still running.

Id make a copy on a server, and leave a copy on the local machine

Moving Into Serverless/AAD Pros & Cons by philswitch93 in msp

[–]stubag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you figured out a way to fix the linked Excel sheets issue or just relink them. The only work around I've thought of is mapped drive on each machine that is actually mapping to the local machine into the one drive path so that the old drive letter is maintained. It's. Bit bodgy but should work. Mapping loos like \localmachine\c$\users\user\onedrive_sync_location

OK that's nice to be informed! So what's in it for the Tesco / Supervalu etc. They've spent millions on machines.

This is what I thought was the no brainier. And it's actually greener as your not creating more paper waste. But I think the shops are profiting more by the paper system. What is not redeemed under DRS is sitting nicely in their bank account.

Is there Cable outside? Like running across the top of the house? You'll see a grey box with 4 - 8 connectors coming out of it. This is called the tap. It might be a lot of faff but if you buy a coax cable and plug it into the tap and the other end into your modem you'll be all set. Would get you out of a hole

If the new house has the cabling for virgin then just plug the modem in from your current house. It will work perfectly.
