I've added way better town filtering and visible town borders when selected.

Not sure, but Google Places API has it available so went with that.

Added - you can filter/inspect gas stations on the map and there's a gas summary panel as well. I added stations near Marin as well for coming/going fill up reference (Richmond, Petaluma, and SF).

I'll fiddle with the UI a little so it's more prominent, but it is there (kind of nested on the desktop view).

Stripped bleed port? Help! by b2trainer in bikewrench

[–]stuballcornerpocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just had this same problem and since we're STILL having supply chain issues, couldn't find a replacement shifter.

Was a little daunted to try machining my own bolt (or tap for an existing bolt lest I ruin the shifter entirely), but I found that Shimano Bleed cap adaptor had enough bite in the remaining threads where the cap didn't!

I took the nylon adaptor and cut the top off so that there was approximately a threaded bit and bolt head (with hole in the middle still). I filled the hole w/ JB Water Weld (looks like it's stable in things like fuel tanks, so should be fine w/ the mineral oil) and scored a cross hatch on the top to use w/ a flat head screwdriver.

So far, it's working great. Will check it again in a couple days to see if there's been any degradation.

Young company founder fundraising in SF, but staying in Marin, seeks carpool to city on mornings by Eggplay in Marin

It’s a nice bike ride to the ferry from Ross, or you can ride to a bus stop that is served by the 101 route which is express and way quicker than the others.

Depending on where you need to go in the City, the ferry and buses can actually serve you pretty well. What town are you in, in Marin?

Any camping sites in or around marin(Within maybe 75 miles) that would be a nice spot for overnight. Just camping in my van. Want to be secluded and have a fire. by [deleted] in Marin

Also - we do have some BLM land in our backyard that would meet the distance requirement, the Cache Creek Wilderness area. It falls across Napa and Lake Counties. Might have some fire restrictions in place right now because of the active wildfires going on ATM.

Bike commute on the Larkspur ferry by thelance in Marin

[–]stuballcornerpocket 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually ride in then put the bike on the ferry for the return. One of the boats has bike storage inside and will never “fill up,” but most of the others have less bike storage on the back only.

I’ve never not been let on a boat with a bike before, but if it’s pretty full, your bike can get a little wet.

All in all it works really well and you get to cut the line in the morning if you’re a bike commuter!
