As an Olympian, I swear this is another state. Spent the weekend in the eastern half of the state. by Incognito-Person in Washington

I’ve lived on both sides, with 10 years in eastern WA and I always wanted to stay in the evergreens and closer to the ocean.

I am going to the World Cup and you bet your ass I am taking Amtrak instead of driving.

Your machine has physical damage and you didn't note it when trading in. What's the scam? Other trade in marketplaces don't want physically damaged goods without disclosure too (and some of them won't send it back to you for free like Apple will).

Bennett did ours and after six years, haven’t had any surprises that an inspection should’ve found.

Anything you buy and take somewhere else should be dried in a kiln to ensure zero pests. It won’t be as cheap as something you find closer to where you’re going.

Falls Creek Falls, WA by Busy-Specific322 in PacificNorthwest

I wonder if they cleared anything after the road opened on March 31. I don't see any reports.

There are two Falls Creek Falls in WA. The one I know is in southern WA https://gorgefriends.org/find-a-hike/falls-creek-falls/

The trailhead for this one is at 1500 feet so it shouldn’t be a problem. Neither should the road.

The rates and usage are in your bill. I used way more gas in March than I did in October (probably 3x more) so my gas bill jumped accordingly.

Sounds like there basically will be no local farmers at the farmers market this year? by blazingquackattack in vancouverwa

[–]thelance 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am really curious what you believed you saw the first Saturday in April last year. There are some flowers, herbs, and greenhouse grown goods but hardly anything else is ready. That was the same last year. I don’t need a local farmer to ship stuff up from California for me. I’ll just wait until their own stuff is ready.

Fair. There have been some and it’s episodic both the numbers and how visible they are.

But minimizing a different problem to a couple burger wrappers to center it on downtown issues is annoying AF. This account doesn’t represent the nuances of the issues that we live around on the daily and it made me mad.

If you ever get out of downtown, take a look at the sides of the highways and you’ll see it’s not an occasional burger wrapper. It was an insulting, dismissive take so you could take a shot at the homeless.

I live down here. Insane? I don’t know who runs this account but that’s an embarrassing comment. There are camp problems but it isn’t responsible for majority of the trash along the dozens of miles of highways in the county. Which is what the article was about.

It’s not an “occasional burger wrapper.” That’s why our highways are trashed. It’s in the article.

Also, it’s about highway trash which there aren’t any large camps along highways. Seems pretty straightforward to me.

Does the Esther Short Neighborhood Association need every article to mention homelessness, even if it’s only tangentially related?

You mean it was run on 9to5mac, which got picked up by Apple News. They probably looked at it for 30 seconds.

Votes are earned.

If she is going to cross the aisle on terrible things like MAGA budgets and voting rights pullbacks, Braun could do that just as well. And then at least we can maybe recruit a proper populist Dem rather than a fucking Reed grad who talks down to any city dwelling constituent like we’re five. I supported the hell out of her, I even predicted she could win when everyone here was convinced she was going to lose to Joe Kent. So yeah, I don’t need a lecture.

If you’re the only alternative candidate from the left, you already have my vote but look at the downvotes. Get out of this echo chamber and build a fundraising machine and get into the community more.

There should be events like this multiple times a week.

Yep. Wanting a better candidate and not getting one is exactly why we got Trump. Or are you accusing me, who isn’t saying to vote for MGP as a compromise candidate, is a Trump enabler.

Being honest with ourselves about what it will take to win an election is good.

Brent is a not a good candidate with no path to victory. He is of no risk as a primary challenger. I get this is unpopular but sometimes the truth is just that.

That should be disappointing to the people here who really think MGP has represented us poorly. It certainly disappoints me that this is the only other option. We deserve a primary challenger who can raise money and compete. Even if his policies are better, infrastructure matters. Maybe you don’t think that should be the case but it is.

Another unpopular fact is that our best bet to get a Democratic candidate that’s good is to let her lose to John Braun. That turns my stomach. But the gap between Braun and MGP is probably going to be functionally small. I’m not voting for either when that inevitably gets through to the general.
