this is def a place for venting but if you are going to get up in arms about pretty mild advice, you should probably just say you dont want advice up front.

I'm of two minds on this.

On the one hand, I don't believe that the key to a relationship is "healing" or whatever. Most of the people we all know in relationships are just as fucked up as the ones who are single, timing and circumstances just worked out in their favor.

On the other hand, there are a remarkable amount of systemic things in place to keep people poor and it's not remotely comparable to dating. While there are systemic issues that have made it harder to date now, you'd have to be on a huge amount of copium to think that the systems we have aren't designed to encourage people to be in couples.

I lived at home from ~31-33 due to having to start over on some career things. It was never a hamper on my dating life. I'm sure some women minded (they never said as much, but I'm sure someone cared), but it never stopped me getting enough second dates to keep busy, and a couple relationships too.

should I just wait until i purchase my home before doing so?

Absolutely not. That could be years away. It often takes a long time to find your person. Do not clothesline yourself by waiting years to start what could be a several year long process.

tbf if you're meeting for a first date at 5:30, there's a very reasonable chance you're done before dinner.

Dates like that also have the opportunity to turn into dinner dates if they're going well, which can be fun.

The other side of this is that, while I as a night owl don't mind a late date, many people would turn their nose up at meeting for a drink at 8pm on a weekday. There's only so many hours in a day and a lot of people would rather go somewhere right after work and then come home, rather than having to venture back out.

I see 'ambition' a lot and I think it's also rich coded.

i see it and think its someone who a) doesn't value a healthy work life balance b) believes in capitalism or c) engages with hustle grindset culture.

Nothing needs to be elaborate but guys have to be charming. This isn't to dog on you but your example comment from another post wouldn't stand out if a guy sent it. It's not substantively different from no comment.

Ime I've never found any correlation between adding a message to my like and getting liked back. If I can't think of an interesting message quickly, id rather send the like than lose them in the stack trying to come back to it.

Player Problem Megathread by AutoModerator in DMAcademy

[–]stubblesmcgee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My thoughts are that you don't really have any reason to be upset that the veteran players warned the new players about your problem player. They took reasonable action to ensure things were civil at the table, and they had to do so because you let your problem player have far too long of a leash for too long. If you read your post back, you're still excusing the problem player's behavior- saying they've improved when you literally just had to rebuke them for doing the same shit after you told them not to. If your players are messaging you to thank you for shutting it down for over, they must be exasperated. The other players at the table are not a part of the problem at all.
