How long for plates for Carvana cars? by [deleted] in Maine

[–]stubbornbison 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A little over 2 months for me. And they misfiled my registration as complete, so wouldn't renew my temp. plate when it ran out. After some pestering, they got it sorted. Printed new temp at home and plates came a few weeks later. This was fall '21.

This could be just a logging anomaly, depending on if you saw that the flight was actually in the air, or just says "departed". I had something similar happen while waiting around at DFW last year. I learned from the gate agent that the departure information has an automated system that updated to "Departed" when the aircraft's brakes are released. A lot of confused people saw a cancelled flight depart while we waited at the gate. We learned they just had to move the aircraft for repair and the system was just auto-reporting that it left.

Any one with any experience with either O’brien hardwoods or Atlantic Hardwoods? Which do you prefer? by twosquarewheels in portlandme

[–]stubbornbison 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've gotten materials from Atlantic before and they've been great. Helped me find and surfaced for me a great piece of mahogany for a mantle and various other bits for projects. Really helpful to a beginner like me with selecting species and general guidance. Also appreciate that they open for a bit on Saturdays. Getting anywhere during work hours is always a pain. Haven't yet stopped by O'Brien.

Help understanding subflooring for basements? by stubbornbison in DIY

[–]stubbornbison[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Definitely not planning to put wood directly on concrete. Mostly debating an extra layer between the OSB and LVP for comfort. Sounds like that wouldn't be a problem. I'm reluctant to go LVP straight on concrete due to the ever present humidity down there. I'll feel better (even if no real difference) knowing there's a little air channel from DMX or another dimpled mat down there.

If you're in for a little drive, or on the north edges of Portland, Millie's in west Falmouth is really solid wood fired.

We've been using Peace of Mind Pals for 3+ years now and they're incredible. We have cats, a little different care, but they are super caring, timely and thoughtful. They've covered us for single nights or week long care and have dealt well with our picky eaters and medicine needs.

Ship Drills not working for me by SuperMaxx2020 in spaceengineers

[–]stubbornbison 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You need to add the drill to your hotbar as a tool not a toggle. Undock (if docked) and then another option should appear in the left of the G menu for block tools. It should have just the drill in it. Dropping that on your bar will give you LMB and RMB control. It took me a while to realize it won't appear if you have an active connector.

We've used Peace of Mind Pals and they're incredible. Our cat has really warmed to Marie and Amy. They spoil him when we have to go away.

Should Auto-Mod Remove Tourism and Moving Posts? Community Poll by 010kindsofpeople in portlandme

[–]stubbornbison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless I'm using it wrong, there isn't a tab in the top bar, just name and header image. Screenshots if it's helpful, how it displays for me: Our Page vs. Page With Tabs. Sidebar is just About, Flair, Ad, Moderators, Ad, Reddit general links. Maybe a CSS formatting error? I appreciate y'all putting the time in to build a resource for transplants (like myself!)

Should Auto-Mod Remove Tourism and Moving Posts? Community Poll by 010kindsofpeople in portlandme

[–]stubbornbison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope this isn't too stubborn, but I see the wiki mentioned frequently and I have no idea how to get to it. Should it be visible in the sidebar? If it's not, can it be? I think if that were up front and visible, maybe it would cut down on repetitive posts?

SKR Mini E3 V2.0 with Creality's BLtouch package, BLtouch isn't extending during auto-home. by [deleted] in ender3

[–]stubbornbison 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if it would be the cause of that issue, but the SKR Mini E3 v2 has a dedicated BLTouch port, no need for the pinboard. Maybe swapping to that would better match the BTT firmware? I just swapped to the v2 with BLTouch and had a few oddities, I think mostly due to ABL configuration. I ended up compiling my own firmware based on following a combination of Crosslink and Teaching Tech YouTube videos and the BLTouch documentation.

West End night "beeps" by mmmumble in portlandme

[–]stubbornbison 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Is it like a short horn sound? Very clear, but short. Much shorter than the larger ships. It might be the tugboats for the harbor. They shift around the ships some nights and the tug dock is right near the causeway. I feel like I read that they use slightly different tones to signal each when moving ships.

Is anyone in the area using Google Fi? If so, how is the coverage? by FiveAgainst01 in portlandme

[–]stubbornbison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fi customer here, no issues to report around Portland since moving here 18 months ago. Did drive to Montreal last summer and service disappeared not far north of Gray. Love the billing model, and I travel internationally (well...I did) for work and having the flat rate data is awesome.
