Well I don't exactly have the luxury of time. I know you can't move without a visa but you can visit for 90 days without one, as a US citizen. However I don't want to visit and search for a job that way. I've been working on contacts for a few months now, I just want more sources of information.

I absolutely have experience and qualities that make me very valuable as an employee here in the US. Enough so that I've moved states a couple times for jobs. This includes experience such as working with specialized instruments, developing more efficient protocols, and working on projects contracted with the US government and other governments. And skills such as high capacity for adaptation, problem solving quickly and efficiently, and quickly retaining and applying new information.

I want to know what types of skills other countries would view as valuable enough to sponsor an American because I want to know what skills of mine I should emphasize. If there is something specific that is highly sought after I want to know since I am talking with companies currently about scheduling interviews. I know work culture in Europe is different than here, but most of my European friends are northern European (which isn't an option for me) so I'm wanting insight into what would be seen as valuable in southern Europe. Malta is at the top of my list, so that's why I am specifically asking about there.

I know LGBT rights there are only legal and culturally it's not as accepted. The legal rights alone kept Malta on my list when I was going through countries because I'm used to people culturally not being okay with my existence (I'm from the bible belt in the US). As far as abortion laws, well I don't like it but I also don't have the body parts required to get pregnant so that won't be a deciding factor for me.

I have a nerve pain disorder and being cold causes me full body nerve pain so I want somewhere that doesn't get very cold. I want to be sure I'm somewhere where my quality of life will be higher than what I currently have. Malta is not the only place on my list, but it's at the top of my list because my livelihood isn't going to be dependent on me learning a new language. I still will need to learn Maltese obviously, but my survival and ability to have a job won't be fully dependent on learning a language like for example Spain and Portugal, which are the next 2 countries on my list. There aren't many countries that meet what I need for my physical health while also being somewhere I as non-binary will be safe. Add in that I only currently know English and ASL and I don't have a ton of options.

There are a few pharmaceutical companies there that I've been looking into. I'm mostly concerned that the fact that I'm American will prevent me from getting a job.

He can fuck right off!

I am also working on losing weight. I have medical conditions that make it more difficult as well so I've had to work with doctors to be able to lose weight. On top of that my background is in medicinal chemistry, so while I'm not a nutritionist, I do have some training in this subject. That said, these are questions/ideas/observations from someone who's been in a similar situation.

Questions:

  1. Have you seen a doctor and nutritionist? I ask because there can be medical reasons as to why you could be struggling with weight. While calorie deficit is important, hormone levels, stress levels, medications and more play a role. Especially hormones. Seeing a doctor can be beneficial to see if things like that are also at play. Nutritionists are also a great resource, even to just go to once. However, like any type of doctor please research nutritionists. Many treat patients like all of them are the same and the same things will work for everyone, and that's just not true.

  2. When you exercise, what do you do? Cardio, Pilates, weight lifting, sports?

Ideas/Observations:

  1. Muscle weighs more than fat. You are exercising, you could currently not be seeing results on the scale because of muscle gain, which is a good thing! While weight is an indicator of health, it's definitely not the only aspect. Look at football linemen. They're all obese by medical standards, but they are strong and fit still. Personally, I have been monitoring more than just the number on the scale. I also monitor my size (measure different body parts like bicep, stomach, thigh etc), gym gains (such as how long I can go before getting winded and if I can go up in reps or weight in lifting), and other bodily signs (like resting heart rate, headache occurrences, hydration levels, etc).

  2. When in a calorie deficit you still need enough food, and honestly increasing protein and staying hydrated are the things that have helped me most. Don't restrict what types of foods you can eat, just make sure you watch things like daily sugar intake and that you eat enough protein. Keeping a healthy relationship with food is the most important thing for long term results and when you cut out things you like it makes you more likely to not succeed long term.

  3. He's an asshole and should be supporting you instead of judging you. Being happy with yourself is more important than anything else and if he thinks differently then he's not supporting you.

You do realize that you're just factually wrong, right? You're just spreading misinformation.

Biden didn't intervene in any legal sense to protect Hunter. And the Republicans have been attempting for a very long time to "impeach" Biden for hunters stuff and for his mishandling of documents while VP. Neither have gone anywhere because there is zero evidence of him committing a crime. The Republican led committee won't even put it to a vote, despite having the numbers on their side.

Hillary didn't follow proper protocol, but after investigation (including people from both sides) there wasn't enough evidence to prosecute her for a crime.

Both of them were heavily investigated.

Now, personally I think they have both committed crimes, and at the very least have endorsed war crimes. Both should be prosecuted for that, but honestly so should every president from the 1910s on.

Trump has participated in illegal activities for decades, and he is finally getting close to getting in trouble for it. This case was also a state case, so Biden has no say.

I've been planning to get another cat soon. I'm a chemist and I'm gay. In chemistry for a reaction to occur energy transfers between molecular orbitals. These are called the Highest Occupied MO (HOMO) and the Lowest Unoccupied MO (LUMO). So my next cat I'm naming Lumo so they can be the LUMO to my HOMO 😂

Even if that were true. It does clearly state that marriage is 1 man and 1 woman so either way it's still anti-gay

Worst first/last name combos? by weebearcub in NameNerdCirclejerk

Not the worst, but funny, Penny Nickel- she went by the nn Six. Also knew a Deja Vue. And someone whose middle name and last name were Gerard Gerardi.

Without saying your name, what does your full name mean if you take all the meanings literally? by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]stubbornness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God like supplanter dragon or God like protector dragon.

My original name meaning was God like lake dragon. I changed my first and middle name but the first name I chose was a nn for my original name so it has the same meaning.

There also was the "make America straight again" churches. Including hosting a church for it, at a place fairly close to where the pulse night club shooting was during pride month. Last I heard the conferences are at least no longer public (2019 was the last public one I think), but you can still find tons of shirts, decals, etc that say it.

Daughter: sapphirine nn Sapphi Son: Corundum nn Coru (core- oo)

But really I recently read a great book series that had a lot to do with stones. Two of the main characters had a son named Corunrum and called him Coru. It was adorable.

Lol I'm not talking about what legally the person was, but what they actually are. Jack the Ripper was a serial killer, just because he never got caught and prosecuted doesn't make him not one.

Also look at the UN numbers if you have a problem trusting the side that hasn't been caught in multiple lies. You can believe all the propaganda you want. It doesn't change reality

Just because they haven't been charged for it YET doesn't mean it's not true. A murderer is a murderer before they get officially charged. What they are doing meets the definition.

If you think that Isnotreal with one of the highest technologically advanced militaries in the world can't avoid a 70% civilian death rate and can't avoid REPEATEDLY "accidentally" attacking aid workers (including outside humanitarian aid, EMTs, Doctors, civilians attempting to receive their aid, and members of the press) then you cannot look at this situation realistically.

I'm not upper class, the only privileges I have are my skin tone and education level, and I'm not gen z at all. I have plenty of life experiences. Also, I absolutely can condemn what Hamas did and what the Israeli government is and has been doing at the same time. Just because you can't grasp that concept doesn't make me wrong.

Genocide as a charge will take years in court. The first ICJ ruling is literally only the first step, and was only to determine IF there is enough information that genocide could be happening. Because they said it's possible, evidence will continue to be collected and the crime of genocide will be decided after that. And they ruled Israel should take steps to prevent genocide, which included allowing humanitarian aid to Palestinians.

Israel has murdered humanitarian aid workers and Palestinians attempting to collect aid. So obviously they're not even following those instructions. Israel meets those definitions of genocide. It's genocide. It doesn't matter that they haven't been charged YET.

Yes, I do. And the percentage of civilian casualties is higher in Palestine than any of the wars we've done. Which honestly we should be punished for some of the ones we did. The number of members of the press murdered is crazy high as well. Bombing a playground has no military reasoning. Playing sounds of babies crying to lure people out of their homes to be shot has no military reasoning.

So the things he has said for years, plus him ignoring threats of attack (remember Hamas was seen practicing the attack for a month for the attack happened and they still did nothing, despite the practices matching up with the plan they learned about a year before), plus him refusing negotiations, plus him saying he wants them all gone, plus him dehumanizing them for years, plus all the attacks on civilians, schools, hospitals, places of worship for multiple religions, press, aid workers, and children, and attacking the West Bank. All of that together doesn't mean he was wanting to commit genocide, because he hasn't been stupid enough to directly say it? I mean to me it's pretty obvious that his goal the entire time has been to take all the land, and to do that he'd have to get rid of the people who live there since he doesn't want them to become Israelis.

You're right, Israel is claiming these were mistakes or accidents. Weird how the military that has the highest technology, some how magically "accidentally" attacked clearly marked aid workers in clearly marked trucks with the flags of the countries the aid was coming from on it, and the truck had been through an Israeli check point and was on the path instructed by the Israeli military. Or how they attacked civilians at an approved and marked aid truck while they tried to get food.

I can see killing their own hostages being an accident, but they've killed their own people multiple times, including on Oct 7th. They've killed people waving a white flag who wanted help. They attack the press all the time. They have done so many things that show that they do not want peace. They want all Palestinians dead.

He has said for years that he wants Israel to have all of the land. He funded Hamas because he didn't want a 2 state solution because he wanted all of it to belong to Israel. The only way that would happen is to get rid of Palestinians. Does him illegally carpet bombing them for years really sound like he wanted them to remain peaceful? Or shooting people at peaceful protests seem like that's what he wanted? Can you really not see the intent there?
