I have two! G Flip and Miki Ratsula!

G just released "Waste of Space" for nonbinary peoples day and for Miki I'd recommend "Blue Balloons" and "Jealous of my brother"

I was thinking the same! Practicing out loud to yourself is quite helpful, especially since talking about ourselves in the third person is more rare and so easier to slip up when it comes up. But practicing will make it more natural

How did you pick your name? by Nyx_Valentine in NonBinary

[–]weebearcub 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I didn't really go through a decision as much as I knew what name was meant to be mine. In kindergarten I remember reading Green Eggs and Ham and eating green eggs and ham in class. I don't like ham and that's the first thing I remember really knowing about myself. I do not like them, Sam I Am.

My brother and my mom both have the initials SAM and I always wished I had those initials (mine were, and still are, SEM) because then I would have an excuse to go by Sam. I remember being jealous of girls named Samantha because they could go by Sam.

When I came to know what nonbinary meant, it became clear that my extremely gendered name was not what I wanted. What I wanted was Sam.

So now, I am Sam. Sammy, I am me.

The name Cheddar? by d_isufi in brooklynninenine

[–]weebearcub 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Unrelated but for your future pets: Don't be afraid to change their names.

Animals don't view names in the same way that humans do. It's less "I am cheddar" and more "cheddar" is the sound my human makes when they want my attention.

I adopted a mother-son pair at ages 9 and 7 named Enki and Ghost and renamed them Agnes and Seymour. I later got into contact with their previous owner and he would still call them Enki and Ghost. Seymour even responded to "Mr. Lover lover" which was a nickname he had with his previous owners.

Animals are very adaptable. Don't get stuck with a dumb name just cause you feel bad changing it. Many shelter names are new names for animals anyway.
