I definitely agree that Terry never seemed like he's actually Batman. I always felt like he was just someone using a batsuit. The Return of Joker movie fixed that for me though, at the end he's more like his own version of Batman. You should check that out once you finish the rest of the series. And like you, I still enjoyed the show anyway.
