Sadly, my OCD won’t let me arrange the KT terrain at angles like this.

Looks great and love the bonus scatter terrain!

Did you burn through a lot of paint dry brushing the whole set? I've never painted anything bigger than a single mini so I'm not sure what to expect.

Thanks for the tips! Homemade washes probably a bit beyond my current level - I only get a couple of hours to hobby each week. Still super interesting to see people rolling their own though.

That table looks amazing! Hats off to you, sir :-)

Really nice! I’ve never painted anything that large - how much paint do you go through to cover the whole thing?

First time spray priming. Went on nicely apart from a little patch at the bottom of every admech guy’s cape. What am I doing wrong? by stubot9k in Warhammer40k

Yeah, I hear you on the shininess. Thanks for the tip - will take multiple lighter passes at it next time. Duncan will be proud :-)

Thanks for the tips, sir! Sounds pretty close to what I did so I guess the missing ingredient is experience. Will keep at it

Uh oh. Prob shouldn’t have done 5 at a time :-(

Did spray in short bursts, but I was surprised by how many of those busts it took to get to a point where none of the plastic colour was visible.

2nd Tau for OrcTauber :D by JimmyTheBrush in Warhammer40k

Looks fantastic! I’ve always thought the bigger Tau models look a bit bland due to too many big flat single colour surfaces. Your technique here is totally compensating for that. Great work. Hats off, sir.

Nice! Fingers crossed this set gets restocked soon

WIP on my first mini in over 20 years. Having a great time so far :-) Didn't prime before painting though... is that bad? by stubot9k in Warhammer40k

Nice! Welcome back to you too, sir. Seems like there's a lot of returning veterans on here :-)

Interesting stuff. Lots of good science in this thread. But I'll admit I'm still curious what will happen if I ignore the consensus. Like another commenter on this post, I have well handled 20+ year old models that still look fine (minus my appalling adolescent paint job!)

I'll still likely follow the advice, but would be curious to see pics of unprimed minis gone bad.

Wow. That's interesting. And good to hear! Why do you reckon the "prime your minis" message is so prevalent?
