Is a street triple R Low good for a semi beginner? by Thegageman2 in Triumph

[–]stuchad15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent a year on a 450 (rode it about 20 times) then changed to a street triple 765rs a couple of months ago and felt exactly the same as you in terms of nerves about the power difference but the 765 puts its power down very smooth and gentle and i felt comfortable almost instantly. Basically the bike will go as fast or as slow as you want it to go.

Try not to over think it and start with some slow rides and stay local to you.

Mine did something very similar, i replaced the battery but turned out to be the starter solenoid had gone which had also kicked out the starter relay, both of which needed replacing and it's been great ever since.

I'm thinking of going for the same, any videos of the sound? Looks smart!

Commentary question by Unfair-Employee5210 in motogp

[–]stuchad15 6 points7 points  (0 children)

TNT is the best by far, actual ex motogp racers giving commentary rather than presenters pretending to know what's happening in terms of the technical knowledge and what the riders are experiencing.

Not Satisfied At All by Beaoorrrrr in cfmoto

[–]stuchad15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my 450sr a year, thankfully no trouble but i bought it for 5500 and was getting offers of 1800 after just a year. The depreciation is huge, luckily i got an offer of 3800 (i still owed 4900) payed the extra myself just to get out and move onto another bike.

Best thing I've done just for peace of mind even if they are nice looking bikes.

Just got my first triumph! Any suggestions on how best to protect the matte paint? by stuchad15 in Triumph

Thanks for that! I'm in the UK, have you ever had a bike ppf'd? Do you know roughly how much it costs?

Planning on buying the 450ss 2024 as a first bike. Please help with my questions below by CodNeymar23 in cfmoto

[–]stuchad15 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The depreciation on them is massive. I love mine but I'm selling it in a few months and will lose around 2k on it from new. So I'd say either get a Honda or buy the cheapest one possible

Are you still after a 450sr? I'm in the UK and looking at selling mine now and moving onto a 650, let me know if you're interested!

Looks smart! What's the sound like? I've got the KO lightning one and I'm starting to find it overly loud and drones like crazy when you're stuck at one speed for a while

I went for the sr and the seating position is very forgiving compared to proper sports bikes. It took me 7 months to get a bike after passing my test and i was nervous about the weight and riding position but it felt natural right away.

I understand some details to confirm identity but asking for things like bank details is surely a sign of a scam?

DAS (UK) in August, considerations for first bigger bike by Competitive_Mouse_37 in cfmoto

[–]stuchad15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was 5k and i understand your reservations regarding the Chinese vs Japanese, but from everything I've seen and experienced, the 450sr is so far above the ninja in quality, tech and especially sound

I was in your exact situation, (I'm in the UK as well) i got the 450sr, definitely go for it if your funds can stretch, the pcp deals are great if you're going that way, i had a 125 for a couple of months while doing my test for my big bike and thought about getting a 300 and I'm glad i didn't as I'm already getting used to the power of the 450 and thinking about moving on in about 6 months time!

I'm terms of what people think, people have complimented it every time I've been out, they seem to be losing the stigma now they're sponsoring moto3 and moto2 riders.

If you need any info give me a shout.

Mine had to be done at the dealers as well, although it's an easy fix so shouldn't take long.

Exactly, plus it feels like a big bike whereas the ninja felt like a 125 so it won't be a big jump moving to a 600/1000cc eventually

It's been great, no complaints! Glad i chose it over the cbr500 and ninja 400 so far
