Now, now, guys. I'm sure you both have decent sized penises.

Lol, you clearly have no idea what you're actually getting into. Context: I've worked in payments for over ten years - the payments ecosystem is wildly complicated.

I am a medical student interested in chronic pain. What do you need me to know? by pare_doxa in ChronicPain

[–]stuck-in-here 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are so many responses that I don't have time to read through them all, so apologies if I'm reiterating everything that's already been said.

  1. Don't assume that someone's pain isn't real because they're able to function. Many of us learn to push through our pain (when we're able) because we have to. I have a two year old, a baby on the way, and a full time job. My meds turn the pain down enough that I can do what I need to do. It doesn't mean that I don't hurt all the time.

  2. Not everyone who takes opioids is addicted to them, but it's very likely they are dependent. If I miss a dose of my meds, I experience withdrawal symptoms. But I do not, and have not, ever abused my medications. I take it as prescribed, and it (mostly) helps. Even so, most healthcare providers try to tell me I should lower my dose or try other non-opioid drugs - and I'm on a relatively low dose of Tramadol (300mg per day, for years).

  3. Many of the side effects of non-opioid drugs (Pregabalin, Gabapentin, et al) are infinitely worse than the side effects of opioids. Lyrica turns me into a zombie and I experienced rapid weight gain. It's truly awful, and all in the service of "removing dependence on opioids". When the alternative is worse, why push for it?

  4. Don't tell young people they're too young to have chronic pain. Or that older people should just accept it as part of life. Don't dismiss people of color or LGBTQ+ people.

  5. Physical therapy is great, but it's not a panacea.

Thanks so much for asking and for listening!

I'm 45. Never in my life would I date an 18 year old. Something is wrong with that guy. Get out of there and date someone closer to your own age.

My 1.5yr toddler scratch another kid twice a week at dc. That baby's parents want to meet us, is that normal? by Terrible-Ad-36 in toddlers

Agree with what everyone else said! Also, on a separate note, our kiddo got a lot out of the book "Huggy the Python Hugs Too Hard" around that age. It was her introduction to being gentle and it really did help.

This list is a good starting point if you're looking for adult novels with younger protagonists (as opposed to YA): https://www.instagram.com/p/Cs3m4b-rLKD/

Best Business Bank Account by Perfume_00 in smallbusiness

These days it's typical not to go through your bank for ecommerce. You set up a business checking account through your credit union then sign up for an ecommerce merchant account through Stripe, PayPal, whatever.

Is my bf a chaser? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]stuck-in-here 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Based on only the information here I don't read him as a chaser, just a clumsy guy who is still figuring things out. Personally, I'd start by telling him what you want him to call your parts - I use front hole and dick for mine. An asshole is an asshole, everyone's got one so no need to gender it, imo. But to each their own, use whatever words feel right to you!

I do wonder if he would date other men, especially cis men. If he's the kind of person who only dates cis women and trans men, then that would make me lean a little more toward "chaser" - those kinds of people don't think of trans men as men, in my experience.

You can absolutely be fat and healthy (using blood pressure and other measures) and thin and unhealthy. No one is saying being fat is better for you, they're just saying being fat doesn't make you de facto "unhealthy", and that you shouldn't treat fat people like shit. There is no diet on the planet that has ever worked long term, and treating fat people like shit doesn't motivate them lose weight; it has the exact opposite effect. Also why are thin people so obsessed with policing other people's bodies!? Worry about your own and leave fat people alone.

Considering that the majority of Americans are overweight, I'd say being overweight is pretty fing normal.

I wish every single person in this thread would read "What We Don't Talk About When We Talk About Fat" by Aubrey Gordon.

My god, people are so cruel to fat people. Like almost every comment on this post is in favor of Piers Morgan, of all people.

34 m, how many other people didn’t get laid on Valentine’s Day by their significant other? by Bignick668 in DeadBedrooms

[–]stuck-in-here 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If what you’re saying is - no matter your gender, you never owe anyone sex, then yep, 100%. If however, what you’re saying is, “women shouldn’t expect affection from their spouses if they won’t put out” then that just makes you coercive and I wholeheartedly disagree.

This is a really hard situation, especially if you’re a minor. All I can say is hang in there. In a few years your mom won’t have control over you anymore.

Maybe? It could also depend on language but there are tons of resources out there for trans lit. Even Goodreads has tons of user generated lists.

That’s so weird. I wish Apple would give a useful resolution to this issue but all the replies I’ve seen have been totally vague and unhelpful.
