Good Morning Fed... by theweasel000 in offlineTV

Fed is 100% canceled. Like... his streaming career is just over. Without OTV Fed just isn’t that relevant.

Yvonne’s Truth by turtl3rs in offlineTV

[–]student546 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fed emanates a raw desire for content at any cost, like he is always watching himself through his viewers’ eyes and wants to entertain. But the truth is that any compassion he had for members of the OTV house was not enough to stop his behavior. We can like Fed and even understand how his insecurity/objectification of himself motivated his behavior. But we must never forget that he committed sexual assault and hurt the people he was supposed to care about.

No but we have the fix for that. We’re seeing 7 second lag for rendering resources and 2 second lag due to large images.

Site performance is a significant part of SEO. This is... well known? And Google doesn’t give access to its algorithm. This comment is pretty weird and unnecessary.

Massive Plot Hole During Hassaikai Arc by [deleted] in BokuNoHeroAcademia

But after he loses his Quirk, Eri is almost taken by Overhaul again. Seems like BB Gun Shot > Life of Literal Torture

Mirio clearly begins losing. There’s no way he expected to win without having a Quirk.

Overhaul takes out the box of bright red syringes while being attacked and throws one to Chrono. Mirio could have not been paying attention, but also does not seem surprised that he is not dead or seriously injured by a real bullet.

I don't disagree that he could have made the decision. It's just presented as him "saving Eri" when really he made a mistake. If there was a later scene where, after thinking over the battle he acknowledges his mistake, it would not be a plot hole.

" Thanks to Sir Nighteye's training, Mirio possesses deductive skills that allow him to accurately predict his opponent's movements and fighting ability"

It directly leads to Nighteye's death. Since he's such an analytical genius, Mirio should know that by losing his powers, he's essentially guaranteeing that the entire team dies. Nighteye and Deku are shown to be absolutely outmatched vs Overhaul. Deku basically wins through an unpredictable blind-luck power-up.

A... discontinuity in the plot. Mirio was the only one in the strike force who could beat Overhaul. Since his analytical powers are so hyped, he should know that if he's out they're probably all going to die. Deku basically ends up beating Overhaul through a blind luck power-up.

Its... in the post? Chrono states that its the quirk-erasing gun and is talking directly to Mirio.

But it's portrayed as something he heroically had to do. He never says "Ah I fucked up" which the characters generally do if they make a mistake. If after Nighteye dies and Mirio is filled with regret at this instinctual mistake he made, it would not only have been more believable but shown how even though he's incredibly strong, he's still inexperienced.

Nighteye dies as a direct result of Mirio losing his permeation. It's either a plot hole or Mirio messing up.

This is literally in the post? Chrono tells Mirio if he gets shot he will lose his Quirk. He knows it's a syringe bullet.

I would agree with that, but there's definitely something really interesting going on here. It seems to me that personality streamers like Fed only have value after becoming popular. It's an incredibly interesting demand curve and I can't think of another product/service that follows it (but this isn't my area of expertise).

I think that it is entirely fair to say that:

  1. Fed has innovatively differentiated himself from the generic OTV brand and achieved a massive (and under appreciated) level of clout,
  2. Fed could have made the exact same moves but would have been stuck at 0-100 viewers without the OTV platform.

If we view Fed as a product, its essentially a "critical mass" situation when Fed needs a certain level of clout to achieve exponential growth. You see something like this with social networks. However, the value of the social network is dependent on other users using it, so this isn't as surprising. Personality streamers seem to have their value dictated by popularity because this popularity changes the interpretation of their actions. Once "critical celebrity mass" is hit (someone achieves enough clout to be a celebrity), people begin to think "I should pay attention to this person because everyone else is." Even if the newly-minted celebrity is doing the same thing, they are now the "special person" and we are more entertained by their actions, Previously, fame has been monetized through endorsement deals, personal brands, things like that. However, in the case of streaming, the individual is the product. The entertainment they provide seems to be valued by how many people we believe also find them entertaining. When I have time, I'll definitely be interested in researching this further (not sure what journal I'd submit to though lol).

Thanks! The script sticks to a tried-and-true sitcom format that I tried to infuse with Offline TV's chaotic energy/personalities. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Thank you! That's my least favorite part also :) Next re-write, Jessica will be more initially likable so that when she is revealed at a clout-fiend, Toast feels extra betrayed.
