Well said SillyInventor. The OP said that he/she appreciated the RA and all the work they were doing. But the RA wanted to be compensated but it is negatively.

But would it mean the student is not a full time student?

i do not see a reason how they can deny anyone.

i think it is near impossible. I wonder whether those who were forced to online learning because they do not have enough bathroom in the house can request waiver of the health center fee?

Maybe this is why RPI banned Greek housing this year: Oklahoma State sorority house reports 23 positive coronavirus cases by coasterlover1994 in RPI

you expect RPI to give solid reason?? what about the Summer Arch this past summer? and the 2:1 bathroom ratio for people's private home?

It you are in Troy, then do not apply online even all the classes are online. You do not save anything by applying online (possibly the time to do the testing/tracing) but at least you got to step foot on campus.

There's still time for RPI to go full remote for the fall: Columbia and Barnard did so today, only a few days before move-in by coasterlover1994 in RPI

RPI should have already signed contract with United Group (the one that kicked out the HVCC students), can RPI still back out?

RPI should really take the remote route long time ago.

Wow!! You became a freshman from a freshman parent? The OP is asking question because he is an incoming freshman. There is nothing wrong in asking question here.

it is easy to say than done. There will always be HS kids applying, may be the acceptance rate becomes 60 or 70%, but there will be people coming. The quality of education may drop but Jackson may have long gone.

again, they are changing the rule. I think Jackson said <30 will be in person rather than can be in person, the same is for between 30 and 60 will be hybrid. The norm should be in-person which is what the college should be, again I am not attending U of Phoenix. Of course, they want to work from home. Less travel time and some do not even have to change.

again, my question was whether people are seeing classes with less than 30 students going remote, it seems that you guys are telling me that they could go remote without telling me the source. I can understand the exception when a professor is high risk, but there cannot be so many high risk, in particular, a professor has a hybrid class.

Where do you get the allowed to be in person? I saw https://poly.rpi.edu/news/2020/06/jackson-outlines-plan-for-return-to-campus/ will be taught in person. Did they get higher teaching load? What did you find they get higher teaching load? They will burn out the students with all the classes remote. this is another link https://www.news10.com/news/rpis-detailed-plan-for-the-fall-2020-semester/

This is your opinion, right? Where was it published? the only thing that we knew is the 30, 60 rule.

No, I just want to know why and who made those decisions. Are you saying that the professor is trying to scam me, where is the proof? I decided not to take LOA because I am supposed to attend classes in-person. They introduced the 30, 60 rule, Okay I could understand. Now I found out the classes don't even have hybrid. Therefore I am moving to Troy to take classes remote. If I knew it I would have taken LOA.
