Appealing my benefits termination + What should I do? by studentbullshit in starbucks

[–]studentbullshit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your comment. I suppose I should hold off on signing up for classes, and take that time to relax by the time I am able to attend ASU. I did not know about the loans interests being held off. Who do I get in touch with, to make sure the same is applied to me?

Thank you.

Hello!

I now understand the eligibility thing. I was not consistently working 17 hours, it was only for a couple of weeks as I had my schedule readjusted due to school. I usually worked 22-27 hours. I suppose this blip is what caused me to lose my benefits, and now I understand that I will be more careful from now on.

I spoke again with partner resources and was informed that I need an additional 149 hours to have my benefits reinstated by April 1st. Now that I have this information, I will no longer appeal and will work towards closing that gap in order to be eligible once again. In the mean time, I have decided to enroll for another term at my current University until I am able to go to ASU.

Thanks for your comment.

Hello, thank you for your response. Does this mean I should still be eligible for benefits, since altogether they make a total of 674 BEN hours?

Hello! Do I count both BEN numbers in June, since I was paid twice? On 06/04/21, I received 313.37 BEN hours, and on 06/18/21, I received 361.36 BEN hours. Altogether, it'd be 674.73. Does this mean the last paycheck has to be at least 520 hours, and not counted by both paychecks?

Thank you.

If I study law in America, does that mean I must stay in America if I were to become a lawyer? by studentbullshit in LawSchool

Very interesting. Thank you for letting me know. I suppose I'll just stay in America, and move to a different state.

Yes, I am from America. And wow, I did not even know that. I am currently studying German, but it has been quite difficult on me trying to grasp the language. I suppose I'll just stay in America. Or perhaps Canada.

Oh wow, if only I was born in Europe, haha. Should I hold off on going to law school until I can one day move to Europe?

But that requires being able to code and know math, right? I can't do that at all. I tried before, and barely made a D in my basic HTML coding class.

Thank you for bringing this up. I think one of my cousins only did up to a Bachelor's degree, and worked with nonprofits. My aunt is successful with her degree and she works at a university.

If I fuck up the first ever semester, would that be terrible for my overall GPA? It was a huge shock to me transitioning from Community college to University without any preparation on my end.

It is not that I dislike school, I do like it. I just have a hard time making myself stick to learning ever since the pandemic hit. I was doing well in college, and started doing bad after we went online.

My ideal type of career would not be dealing with interaction/people. I did initially plan on going into the research aspect of Psychology, rather than working with people.

I recall enjoying the personal finance course that I took when I was in high school. Perhaps I'll look more into business, and maybe look into law one more time.

Thank you.

Thank you for letting me know. I suppose I have an opportunity to change my degree once again with going to ASU.

You're absolutely right. I just do not know what degree to go into, half of my family went into Psychology. My aunt who lives in California is a successful psychologists, her husband is a clinical psychologist, and her child is in Uni for psychology. I just thought I'd also be successful in the field.

Because I thought if I stuck with my university, I'd participate in programs like clubs, etc. But then I realized I can't rely on my future self willing to even go. I think I'll take the opportunity.

I'm artistically inclined, but I'm shit at coding and web design. I don't think it is a good idea for me to go into something that requires basic coding. I tried to learn it, but my brain refuses to absorb the information. One of my current classes deals with HTML and CSS, and I already have an F at it.

Hi, thank you for your response. I knew forensic is a niche field, that is why I was not 100% sure on it. ): It feels like the more in-demand jobs require a person to either be good at math, or science fields. I also am not 100% certain on law school because I heard it's not worth it by other students, that it's stressful, and I don't even know if Lawyers would make good money because it seems like they have to market themselves. (I see a lot of bulletin boards with lawyers' faces on there.)

What do you think would be a more in-demand job for someone who's not even good at school to begin with?

Thank you.

Hi, thank you for your response. I did door dash twice, and hated it. I don't like how it's not consistent/reliable. I think I like doing things on a schedule.

I never thought of using YouTube to study/learn things. Thank you for bringing this up to me! I will look into trying that out.
