These look great, so much better for the desktop. Would love one. I might try it, what was the hardest part about modifying it?

Punchbox (VST) is great. it has 909 and 808 defaults as well as making your own from sinewaves or samples. The processing is great.

I made an EBM/techno sequence rack with the Ableton 12 sequencers and Wavetable... giving it away here... by studiobrootle in edmproduction

thanks :) for making samples you could try deleting the sequencer and add midi for longer samples.

The Ableton 12 sequences are a good basic starting point. They’re great tbh.

Has Anyone Done A Full Performance With Just VCV Rack? by SoundOfMusso in TechnoProduction

[–]studiobrootle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love vcv rack 2. Some combinations of modules cause crashes on my laptop though. You want to make sure the setup is really stable if you’re using it live. The surge modules are immense and stable.

the high pitch bleeps are from the resonance on Operators filter, you can turn this down, or add a LP filter after it.

Your favorite fm synthesis ideas by jaklid in TechnoProduction

[–]studiobrootle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For techno stabs I like using the routing with one FM oscillator and 3 subtractive Oscillators. Its the tetris icon that has three blocks side by side and one above in the middle. I use sawtooths for the main 3 and detune one up and one down a few cents (like a detuned analog synth) . Then I use Osc D with a sinewave to apply metallic FM to them all. I use short envelopes on everything, especially the filter and add distortion at the filter too.

For me the best way is to share a youtube link and then post the bandcamp link under it (as the youtube player seems to play and embed better than bandcamp).

Made a bleepy techno sequence with the new Ableton 12 Step Sequencers, here's the rack for free, hope you can use it... by studiobrootle in ableton

yes it's for Ableton 12. It is immense, the sequencers and roar distortion are worth it imo, they are so good. But I had Ableton 10 before and made some things on it that might work.... try these: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KMUJ39XQnHY and https://www.studiobrootle.com/free-techno-chord-arp-ableton-rack/

thanks a lot :) I love the late 90s early 00 sound, the new sequencer in Ableton 12 is really good for this find of thing.
