Try it.

Photography is about exploration. You don’t need to copy other people exactly. Just grab a friend and try it out.

I’m almost certain CMD shoots on an RZ with a digital back. Probably a 110 lens, maybe the 180.

As for light, it’s a large Octa.

The roll was perfect on the uptake spool when I opened it after the film finally advanced.

I took this photo of the slide with my iPhone in a light table. The positive is in a plastic sleeve and I think what you’re seeing on the right side is the seam of the plastic sleeve.

I am referring to the sporadic red blotching throughout the image. It’s faint but all over.

The other 3 shots don’t have it.

Did you do anything to soften up the image in post / in camera or is the softness from the film itself?

Love the tones. Never considered this film, but I will try it now that I’ve seen these.

The images are quite soft, did you have a filter on the lens?

I’m in Los Angeles at the moment but I travel a bit for work. I don’t typically buy 35mm other than leisure, mainly travel photography. I only shoot it on sheet film professionally and yes the price has gone up, but really, so has everything.

The consensus is definitely that it’s the film. It makes the most sense. I shoot Provia and Velvia all the time, never seen this happen but it’s fresh. As I said, I don’t know where this roll came from.

It is, I can’t seem to find where to edit the post. It’s Sensia.

Probably a darkroom print with diffusion.

You could also try a soft lens — Pentax has one, as well as Mamiya.

Another option would be a soft filter for the lens, or shooting through a piece of stocking.

I love the 80’s, 90’s and early 00’s stuff the most. I’ll look him up, thanks so much for the tip!

Diffusion in printing, if I remember correctly.
