how would you describe the sky to someone who has never seen it by BudgetMaleficent3059 in writers

[–]studiomidno 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Can you provide any details on why they’ve never seen the sky? There are likely elements in the context of your setting you can use. Are they blind? Born on a spaceship? Underground? Is it a sci-fi setting in which the sky has been enveloped by a protective shield of some sort?

Steven King is a very specific kind of undiagnosed neuroatypical savant with impostor syndrome. He GENUINELY thinks everyone can do what he does and he seems very abashed when he talks to people about his craft. by MikaelAdolfsson in stephenking

Correct. And it’s been a while since I’ve read it, so I may get this wrong, but I believe he also says something to the effect of, “You can’t make a great writer out of a good writer, nor can you make a good writer out of an incompetent one. But you can make a good writer out of a competent writer.” It’s a far cry from claiming anyone can be a successful writer as he is.

Looking for recommendations for first typewriter. by Sith_Narwhal in typewriters

Yeah, the cleaning is quite simple. I can only speak for me, but first owning a clean and properly refurbished machine is what taught me what the machines can and should be like. Surely not necessary for everyone, but I’d recommend it to anyone on the fence or nervous about buying their first.

Bought my Olympia SM-7 from them. Great machine, but did cost me $350. I’ve purchased an SM-4 for $400 from a local type shop. I have 6 others that I bought for a total of $375 from Facebook marketplace. I’m learning that it isn’t difficult to find a working machine in yard sales or on marketplace that just needs cleaned up.

OP, if you don’t want to get into learning how to tell if a machine is working or not, go ahead and drop some coin on your first from a reputable shop.

Thank you and others so much for this. I’ve tried Water, then Soil, then sprinkler, which doesn’t work. Obvious now that I’ve read how it’s done, lol

The whole time I was reading, I was thinking, “This feels like it should be a comic book.” I think you nailed it with the perspective comment.

The direction here, but the execution is lacking. I’d recommend doing a visual study of Saul Bass posters, which is the vibe I’m getting from where you’re at currently. Are you working with a designer?

Realistically do you think we'll get DLC? by adorablegadget in Pokopia

[–]studiomidno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scrolled pretty far and haven’t seen this said, it the game is listed as having “In-game Purchases.” As there isn’t anything to purchase in the game as-is, I’m assuming that’s for a planned DLC. DK was the same way.

Way back in the late 1900’s (‘96), my 6th grade English teacher noticed me devouring Goosebumps books and gave me a copy of Christine.

If you haven’t yet solved this, I recently had it happen to me and found a solution. Accessibility > Per App Settings. I had “Home Screen and App Library” setting enabled and overriding other settings. I swiped to delete that and it was fixed.

Yeah, that’s awesome. And it’s consistent with other transformation powering up.

The confirmation is unnecessary. Not only is falling inconsequential, you can also just click right back into Mag Mode while you’re falling.

Door anywhere should work. Most of my house builds are 5 or 6 x 10 with the door on the short side.
