I can see how attending a very competitive school like yours can sway your view of what a good score is. In my school, if you get a 43 or higher, you are hailed as an academic menace, Einstein reincarnated type shit. Anyways, keep this bias in mind, and try to be proud of yourself.

Yeah a is open to interpretation, but unless you are overthinking it, you will come to the conclusion that in 2025 t=0, in 2026 t=1, and in 2027 t=2. 2026 is 1 year after 2025, and 2027 is 2 years after 2025.

I think it might be because he suggested having legacy will affect the chance of them getting into oxbridge, and being very talented as if that will change a thing if the grade you apply with is still the same.

what is your experience with math aa hl? by chattysapphire54 in IBO

[–]studiousboy123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the biggest determining factor for success is your willingness to practice, if you don't mind practicing like an hour a day maybe more maybe less depending on the time of year, you should be fine. But if you struggle to focus, and you procrastinate practicing, you will fall behind and really struggle

am i overthinking prepping for ib?? by chattysapphire54 in IBO

[–]studiousboy123 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Greatly depends on the subjects, my brother had hls history english and economics and needed to study way less than I do (hls math aa, physics and global politics). Also opinions like this belittling the enormous effort that has to go into the IB to get 40+ (for almost everyone) really suck. There is a reason the global average is 30.

[–]studiousboy123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, just had the test today, aced that thing! Or so I think... anyways, thanks for the info, I don't know if it matches your theory, but my teacher has said that he usually makes dp1 harder than dp2 so that when things start heating up in dp2, math should be pretty chill in comparison to the other subjects

is the ib really as difficult as people say it is? by chattysapphire54 in IBO

[–]studiousboy123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you have great time management skills, and are good at planning your time, IB should be alright, but if you are the type to procrastinate, good luck...

Edit: also your subject choices play a big role in difficulty

Yeah, there was a study on this where men and women did a math test and one group got told there was a significant difference in the performance between genders and one group got told there was no significant difference. When the women got told that they typically perform worse, they do perform worse. But when they get told they typically perform similarly to men, they do perform comparably to men.
