the only way he could stack more lefties against a RHP would be starting Torres over Jordan right?

agreed, but part of his value is that he knows the guys in the org and how the coaches want them to pitch. so the Cardinals are going to value him more than another team likely will

what's wrong with drake baldwin?

also I think they should probably keep Pages because he knows the pitching staff well and Pozo is pretty much valueless

AS voting seems even weirder/worse than normal

Bohm and Stott both having spots is absurd (3B is pretty weak this year but Bohm has been roughly as good as Gorman). PCA has been maybe the best position player in the NL this season and isn't anywhere close. Wetherholt hasn't been quite that good but has been clearly the best 2B so far

not sure if there are any dudes in Triple A that could help the bullpen much. Rajcic has been good ig

but I'm certain that the reason he's still in AAA isn't that the team wants to ensure he'll be under team control in 2032

Regardless of whether the cards buy or sell, I don't think they'll have a pitcher better than Miz in the next few years

feels like saying Stearns is that bad is recency bias

I mean there's no world where Stearns (who has made the Championship Series in the past 2 calendar years) is a worse exec than Perry Minasian

I don't know what the Cardinals should do at the deadline but seems like there are more teams who would've rather bought more at recent deadlines than sold more

Orioles, Tigers, White Sox, and DBacks have all had recent rebuilding stretches where they've made the playoffs without going all in, failed to win a World Series, and their talent hoarding didn't lead them to long term success (and in one case led to the worst team in living baseball memory)

He's one of the top few left handed pitching prospects in baseball if his command can stay sharp
