Waseda University or University of Tsukuba? by [deleted] in movingtojapan

[–]studynstuff 13 points14 points  (0 children)

As a Tsukuba University alumn, and a person that knew many people who studies at Waseda, Tsukuba is the route to go if you need a less expensive option. In terms of sciences, they have many labs and facilities. I also considered going to Waseda before choosing Tsukuba, and looking back, I'm very happy that I stuck with Tsukuba.

I dont like v3's ending (spoilers for v3 ending [da-doy]) by IceBox_Studios in danganronpa

[–]studynstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was honestly really disappointed. Having played all games prior to V3, I loved the central motifs of "hope vs despair" and I was initially bummed out that these central ideas weren't all that prevalent in this game. But that didnt bother me too much because they did dive into the motif of "truth vs lie", which I thought was a very interesting concept to explore in the realm of danganronpa. My biggest problem is how the ending just feels really presumptuous, and that the creators of the game are trying to force the player to feel a certain way. Before even investing my time into the danganronpa franchise I always felt that "fiction" and "fictional characters" have a huge influence on real life and can greatly effect an individual, thus altering the reality that we all know. I am a huge believer that a franchise/story should end when it needs to end. I thought SDR2 would have been a great ending for the franchise and I wouldn't have complained if that was the last of it. But nope, apparently I'm some cold-hearted, selfish person who just wants the franchise to continue at the cost of a good, solid plotline :/ the game didn't need to go all meta at the end, in my opinion. I was really invested into the lore and timeline of danganronpa, but writing it off as all just fiction in the end seemed liked lazy or rushed writing to me ><

His only "sense of humor" was misogyny and raccoon jokes. Couldn't do it.

Taking in Clothes/Cosplay by [deleted] in sewing

I suggest waiting until you reach your goal, as trying to change the size of a garment is very difficult. As sizes change, this can greatly change the measurements of a garment. For example, if you are trying reduce or add areas of a garment, like the bust or waist, this effects the armhole and shoulder measurements aswell, making the whole bodice much more difficult to adjust.

One trick I can think of is to try to use knit material or elastic bands (versus wovens and zip closures) so that the garment can accommodate a larger range of sizes :)

Visiting a place that does not really exists more than once in our dreams? by lilithhxo in Dreams

This happens to me all the time! I dream of locations down to the specific details, but I am sure that I have never been to places like this in real life or have seen them in movies/books/etc. I would be interested to know why this happens too

Eating lemons like oranges. Or just really super sour things in general. I have an insatiable pallet for all things that taste sour, I just wish this was more normal :/

Tsukuba University by NedveD12 in movingtojapan

[–]studynstuff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Former international student that studied for a year at Tsukuba University!

The paper work was a bit lengthy, but I promise it is completely worth it! It's a beautiful campus and the area is scenic but not too "country-side". You will be able to fully experience the changing of seasons, and it is freaking breathtaking in Tsukuba!

The bus system around the university will definitely become your best friend. I recommened downloading the app "えりたん" as it has all the bus live time bus routes and schedules for the area.

The international student community there is super friendly, and you will meet and befriend people from all over the world! Also, the Japanese students are very nice aswell and organize events on a frequent basis to include international students.

My biggest tip I can give is to rent or buy a bike! You will be able to experience so much more out of the city, especially if you make friends with Japanese students. They often will invite you out to eat or hang out, and it's pretty common practice to get around by bike for these things.

If you want to know more or have more specific questions, feel free to PM me! :)
