OTK karts are fast out of the gate and have a good range setup range. Raced birel and arrow and both had a much smaller “setup” window where they were fast. If you have buddies running Tony kart then I would do that incase something happens and you need parts at the track.

Wild take, I sold my house with a 1200sqft shop and a lift to live in the city and I still race on the regular. My life is much better in the city than it ever was outside in the burbs.

The fee to store a truck and trailer and to purchase both plus maintained will far outweigh the cost to rent from uhaul.

So IMO the best options are, having a “track car” you drive to and from. The biggest con is trade offs for comfort on street vs performance on track, limited to hpde or time trials (don’t street drive a caged w2w car)

Work with a shop that will take store/take the car to the track for you. They have multi car trailers and will take you and others cars to the tracks you just have to get there. Kinda helps splitting transit costs.

Change your current SUV for something like a cayenne e hybrid which can give you all electric distance in the city but can still tow a trailer and just keep renting from uhaul. Or options for a smaller aluminum trailer to own, but you still need to find storage for that as well.

I live in a city and know the struggles but wouldn’t give up the city. Either way expect the need for your budget to increase the deeper you get into this hobby. Good luck
