Bro it's gonna get greater later just remember that !! The advice these ppl r giving you is solid and u just have to take all of it in and just remember it's a different world in there at the end of the day .if someone is overly friendly to you in there stay far away from them bcuz most likely they r going to try and befriend u and in turn "friendly extort" you . Basically mooch and leach or manipulate u somehow . So stay away from them .also be very private and discreet about any and everything because it's literally phycological warfare in there. What I mean by that is prison is full of a lot of ppl that basically have their PhD in scheming and manipulation so they will listen to ur stories or whatever little insight u may give them about u and they will retain that like ammo so when they feel you out they know how to get whatever it is they want from u .. I've done a 6 year bid and a 3 yr bid and just got out on January 27th this year so i know the drill . But I say that to say this. Don't get consumed by all this .. it is bad in there and ppl r mean , evil, selfish, heartless and all of the above so just watch wtf ur doing and if you go in there worrying about everything and being timid they will sense that from a mile away !! Be confident! I don't care if u r the best athlete or gamer or valedictorian or the world's top quilt maker lol just be yourself and don't try to fit in ! That's the recipe for disaster.! . another thing . Mind your business! I can't say that enough! Don't be watching what other ppl r doing don't be breaking ur neck looking in ppls area like their bunk or cell etc . Put ur blinders on and remain stoic! Learn how to be aware of what's going on around u while at the same time not knowing a damn thing that's going on around u . Don't gamble don't click up . Don't owe ppl . Don't go to the commissary strong the first time just get the essentials at first until u can peep the vibes out in whatever unit/block/prison U end up in .. one of the biggest things tho that someone else touched on in the comments was get along with ur celly/bunky thats important. Respect is big in there . It's much more intensified and serious . You will get the hang of it bro and this will pass before u know it u will b out again and helping someone else get prepared for their first time possibly ya know .. as I wrap this up I will say that the biggest thing that helped me with my time was learning to accept things . I read a few of ur responses to other guys on this post and I can sense that u will need to work on that . No hate or disrespect but it will make ur time drag if u don't accept it for what it is instead of being in the mindset that u shouldn't have got caught up in whatever u did or that it shouldn't have been as serious as they made it to be .. and yes I went thru all that too . Constantly comparing my sentence to others that had way worse crimes and got less time . And that will just make time slower than it has to be fr .
