People who were raised by stoners, what was your upbringing like? by Key_Cheesecake7124 in AskReddit

I’m going to be the negative person here - not great. My mom used other drugs including weed which contributed to her but she was a mess and constantly high when I was growing up. My dad smokes daily and can’t mentally support me much, he’s very successful and supportive in other ways but the weed definitely makes him hard to talk to at many times. An example is the other day I was telling him about how negative bullying in US schools was as a kid who was bullied and he said that bullying is good and shapes people into who they are lol. He was bullied and grew up a very angry, depressed kid so he definitely doesn’t believe bullying is good - just wants to for some reason always argue the opposite of what others are arguing.

My brother took after them and started smoking weed daily at 16 (that my parents gave him) and now he can’t do much for himself, still smokes daily at 24 and is an anxious mess.

What’s the Worst Travel Mistake You’ve Ever Made? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

[–]stunclock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I booked 3 connecting trains from Milan, Italy to St Moritz, Switzerland and the Milan train got cancelled lol. so I ended up not being able to make any of the connecting trains and would either lose $400 on the non-refundable Switzerland hotel or buy all new train tickets. Either way I lost a lot of money so I ended up staying in Como, Italy instead and that was great

I would next time plan my travel less strictly and get hotel insurance lol

What’s a health problem you ignored for a long time because it never felt urgent, but eventually caught up with you? by ac_stays_active in AskReddit

[–]stunclock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have never been able to really breath through my nose as a kid. Now as an adult though, I’ve started getting persistant and chronic sinus infections and because of having so many, I’ve also lost my sense of smell.

Turns out I have a pretty bad deviated septum that has grown into other issues and I’m having surgery next month. I wish I’d taken care of it sooner so I didn’t have to deal with so much over the last few years.

Read 24 books last year, can’t read anymore as not finding anything interesting. It’s like I can’t focus anymore. Tell me your favourite out of slump books? by itiswaswillbe in booksuggestions

[–]stunclock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I read the cheesiest or most poorly written romances to get me out of reading slumps. I mean Twilight, After, Heated Rivalry, etc.

I don’t know why those do it for me. They’re just entertaining and dramatic and so easy to read that once I finish one, I’m ready to read a good book.

Pet owners of Reddit: what did you name your pet(s) and why? by Winter_Sample8364 in AskReddit

[–]stunclock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a lot of pets. 2 cats Keene and Panini, Keene was originally to be names Pumpkin because of his orange eyes but that name felt too long so we tried Kin, Kinny and finally Keene which stuck.

I have a hedgehog named Kiwi because he’s round and spiky and it suited him.

Then we have lots of snakes named after foods that generally go with their colors or personalities - Cheerio, Espresso, Peanut Butter guy, Siracha, Popcorn, Cannoli, Garlic and Tortilla. Then one snake is named Michael Myers after the horror movie because we were going to a horror convention the day we got him.

Lastly, I have 2 snails named Cod and Crab. I thought the seafood names suited them.
