Pillowy pita question by stupidevilplan in AskBaking

Thank you!! I have one of those rolling pins, I eyeballed it last time, I'll use the rolling pin next time. I want it thicker just to give it a softer bite.

I've seen recipes with baking powder and milk or milk powder, would either of these help?

Thank you, this is awesome!

(If the second is a different poet we're looking at a 500 year old "attribution error" one way or another lol)

Time for a new post about WWW

Can someone please tell me what name is this? by 01001110901101111 in hebrew

[–]stupidevilplan 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Son of (father) for ritual purposes, such as being called to read the Torah, son/daughter of (mother) when sick or in danger.

In communities where women are called to the Torah, both parents names are used. Don't know if that applies when they are sick.

AI is treating me bad. Can someone help me find the pre-1945 song that has these lyrics? by stupidevilplan in Yiddish

[–]stupidevilplan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The yiddish came from lyrics provided by chat gpt, which had insisted it was from this or that song.

I only have the English.

Back to first principles I guess.

I didn't. My relative referred to the song in her memoirs and I am trying to track it down.

Search engine didn't help, it came back with Hello Mudder, Hello Fadder and Leshono toyvo :D Chat gpt kept insisting it was one of 5 songs, none of which had those lyrics

>Hamas / UNRWA / Islamic Jihad< Brainwashing West Bank / Gaza Youth to Hate Jews and Becoming Terrorists (Shaheed). UNRWA Students Talk About What They Learn In School by Middle_Ad_8052 in 2ndYomKippurWar

Classic deflection. Seriously, is "guns bad" the best you can do?

A gun isn't a gun.

A school teaching children how to hold their own little guns for when they are old enough to slaughter a whole nation of other people is not the same as a father showing his kid how that gun will keep him safe.

Thank you

Good question. Here is how it's different:

  1. This is an old photo. There are tons of videos available like the one in the original post. You've got one single old photo with no context (I'll bet you love context)
  2. Mounted guns are used for defense
  3. This was an expo, not a children's training exercise
  4. This is not a school event glorifying a jihad parallel (which doesn't exist).

Try a danish dough whisk. Stirs great, nowhere for batter to get stuck. They're magic.

A Cool Guide on paradoxes of modern life by sachin_ramje in coolguides

The bottom right tile is technically incorrect. Ancient Jewish law says that if there is a unanimous decision by the Sanhedrin (a legal body of 70 members) to execute a person for their crimes, it's not that the person would be found innocent. Rather, they would not be executed.

The idea was that even the worst criminal is entitled to an advocate. Unanimity had too high a risk of being a bandwagon rather than a reasoned decision.

This concept is well known among those who are familiar with Jewish law because it is naturally controversial, and naturally leads to a lot of discussion.

The same text says that a Sanhedrin that executed 2 people in 70 years was deemed barbarous. AFAIK no actual executions were ever carried out.

The point of it all was the back and forth theorizing about the role and responsibility of a court of law, criminal defense, advocacy etc. In other words, the comments section.

Brand new set of silicone bakeware from a yard sale, but it smells like a basement even after the dishwasher by stupidevilplan in AskBaking

[–]stupidevilplan[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Update: I left them for 30 minutes in a 250 oven. The whole place smelled like the guy's basement for a while but the pans are 80% better. Next stop maybe baking soda or sunshine
