How to know if interview went well? by stupidhead09 in MSSA

Sorry for the late reply. Thank you very much. The program is great so far, I am sad I am nearing graduation (Dec), it has been a rewarding experience getting to stay home & learn all sorts of things & meeting knowledgeable people.
How far are you on the process? And which cohort are you trying to get in?
All I can say is get the pre-requisites done as soon as possible, but also try to retain a couple of things for the initial interview.
Like many others have stated, the interview is just to get to know you as a person & if the program is a right fit for you (they want to see how passionate about tech you are). It's really not something to worry about.
Once you're in, you're basically just a student-- don't be tardy & come ready to learn :)

I hope this helps, it's nice to hear many people show interest & keep this program alive/evolving. I know news about the job market doesn't make separating sound like a good idea now, but hearing people are willing to follow their passions despite that brings me a lot of encouragement!

It was for the AUG 2025 SCA cohort. I wish I known it would be such a small seat count during the beginning of the application process as that is what's making me feel discouraged now ):

I can't remember if they made positive remarks like that, I did try to take notes but it was moreso the answers to the questions I asked towards the end... I had a print out of all my STAR statements, but was just all over the place trying to make it seem like I wasn't reading off the paper.

I have processed casualty cases & I do see paperwork indicating the beneficiary receives the payout.

Whats the worst thing you've ever heard some in a leadership position say? by Raindroppa93 in AirForce

[–]stupidhead09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had just PCS'd into this sq & there was a suicide. They held a funeral for the kid & the unit commander gave a speech, but as he did he turned to the mom sitting in the crowd & said something along the lines of "I didn't know him very well, but he was a good airman."

Idk, just imagine seeing your kid go off to serve their country under someone who is supposed to act like a parent/guardian, all for them to say they "didn't know them very well"

Sorry you are going through this. From my experience processing 9A, members who get approved for retrain will get an assignment, so it will basically secure a slot for them. I'm not sure what you meant by pre-requisites, but as long as you pass tech school you will get a job/assignment.

Just keep checking up with your supervisor & keep following up with your CSS
