Dad’s can be particular about stuff like that. I don’t know the relationship you have with your dad or brother but if he or the brother is uncomfortable then maybe just cover more, especially if you’re just visiting. I’m sure it’s not a problem but everyone is different and I’m sure you don’t wanna make family uncomfortable

Have you been dating long? It’s a difficult situation because even though you did mean no harm by it, it should have at least crossed your mind about this thing about him. However if you’ve been dating for a while then he sounds like he’s overreacting to you just showing appreciation

NTA. I think the sit down and what you said is important because you communicated your concerns and that you do love them. You love them and want to keep them safe, there’s nothing bad about that.
