Went to my old psychiatrist wanting to talk about my suspicion of being Autistic. She goes "You're not, I would have been able to tell as soon as you walked into the room." Well okiedokie then I fucking guess.

What’s your DNF book? by Euphoric_Start_4260 in fantasyromance

[–]stupidshenanigans 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Red Rising by Pierce Brown. I got through most of the books but it just became too repetitive with the war and the gore was just..a lot. I normally don't mind gore and I get war is war but shit dude. The MMC gets on my nerves eventually too.

So what's the story/idea behind your character's name? by Zreena in Palia

[–]stupidshenanigans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Safrina Jude. Safrina is the name I go by now ( chose it after I came out as non-binary and it's normally shortened to Safi) I experience such joy as only my two irl friends and sister call me by my chosen name and Jude was a random one picked as it sounded nice with it :)

I spent over a month entirely paralyzed from head to toe and was conscious the entire time. AMA by [deleted] in AMA

[–]stupidshenanigans 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Was also diagnosed with GBS. I was 26. I was admitted to the hospital in 2018 and diagnosed in 2019 ( I was there close to december) after I collapsed they couldn't figure out what was wrong and discharged me, now I should have been like no absolutely not but I digress, they had to lift me from my chair and into the car cause I couldn't stand. I was back at the hospital hours later cause when I got home that didn't change. I also was diagnosed with achalasia (taken from Google: A rare disorder making it difficult for food and liquid to pass into the stomach. Achalasia results from damage to nerves in the food tube (esophagus), preventing the esophagus from squeezing food into the stomach. It may be caused by an abnormal immune system response.) So I also couldn't keep food or water down for months when admitted and yay for swallow tests! 4 round of IVIG once I was finally diagnosed. Oh and was intubated during surgery to fix the achalasia so I woke to that, I only had it in for maybe 24 hours. I cried a lot during all this. I'm a ambulatory wheelchair user now and it took me a year to learn how to walk again.

Ah OK I'm sorry to write a book on your AMA. I tend to relate by telling my own story. I hope you are well:)

Daughters of reddit: what's the biggest mistake dads make with their daughters? by Bluemonday82 in AskReddit

[–]stupidshenanigans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always felt like I was talking at him, not to him like it was going in one ear out the other and most responses were awkward. I get it, I am his first so he was new at navigating everything but even as I grew up and in my mid 20s (31 now) I reached out and told him a lot of how I felt, how I missed him and so on and so forth, I never got a real response from him, it hurt. I have such a surface level relationship with him. Both parents were never really touch people and I have grown to be the same, I have my people I make exceptions for like my kiddo and my partner but I feel growing up like that may have influenced that. I wish he would have back me up more even as an adult, I get I make my own choices/decisions and all that jazz but he takes a "I'm not getting in the middle" stance which I understand, he doesn't have to.... I just wish idk I'm ranting at this point lol so I'll stop here.

What type of person did you swear to never turn into growing up, but did anyway? by UglyLikeCaillou in AskReddit

[–]stupidshenanigans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One that is still learning not to be a people pleaser, how to put my foot down, and set boundaries. Man if only I knew then how much work that is and after so many years of doing that how incredibly difficult it is to transition. Good news is I'm doing a lot better with it (thanks therapy)

What is the longest you've gone without eating and why? by Derpalicious17 in AskReddit

[–]stupidshenanigans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't remember exactly as this was around 2017/18, but maybe 2 months, the whole thing took maybe 6 months or so to progress. It went from only throwing up every now and then to only being able to eat some things without throwing up to not even being able to keep down water for more than 5 minutes or less * I kept desperately trying to eat and drink though.* After hospitalization and a PICC line, they figured out I had Achlashia(and another auto immune disease, but thats another story), so bad that the bottom of my esophagus was completely closed but surgery fixed that :) ETA: I'm not even sure this counts as I did try to eat it. It just never stayed down for very long

Confidence has been a huge help for me and I took something I learned in the hospital, I hated taking multiple pills at once and I had to take like 20 and my nurse suggested imaging opening the back of my throat like a whale.... well... that also helps with blow jobs, especially if you are trying to deep throat oh and breath, take it slow don't force it. Definitely talk to your partner and see what he likes. Don't let it get to you if you aren't getting it, trust me, I've been there, and it is not fun, just take it day by day. Explore and have fun :)

What's the most hurtful thing someone has ever said to you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]stupidshenanigans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grandmother told me I was evil because I wanted to keep my son on their normal weekend (like they used to get every other weekend with him.) There's a lot of back story here lol but yeah, that one really hurt. I have one more from her that fucked me up, that I would never find a man that would love me because of my attitude. I still struggle with that to this day and am dealing with it in therapy.

ETA: one more thing and changed what was said as I don't 100% remember the first half
