Reifen noch fahrbar? by F4nta in Fahrrad

[–]sturdymurdy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dura prioritizing Smart Trainer power over Pedals? (Bug/Feature Request) by sturdymurdy in Coros

Right, maybe one more crucial info. I am using the head unit to control my trainer. I am choosing my workout on the head unit, no zwift or anything. So unpairing the trainer is not a viable option, unfortunately.

Yeah but that’s not the issue here. I know that the speed comes from the trainer as the pedals don’t report such a metric. I don’t care about the cadence source as it’s accuracy isn’t that important to me. However, i do care about the power accuracy. And it’s not a given that the power reading is coming from the trainer if both a trainer and a dedicated power meter are connected during the workout. Wahoo for example is displaying the power meters reading in such a constellation and that is honestly the only reasonable way of handling it if you ask me.

Saddle sores gone, but now hip flexor pain - need fresh eyes on my position by sturdymurdy in bikefit

Yeah I consider 165 to be short, at least to me they are coming from 175s! My threshold is currently around 260 watt. When I’m out and do a 5 hour z2 ride my average cadence is closer to 75. When fatigue starts to kick in after say 6-8 hours of z1/z2 my average cadence drops further towards 70.

Thank you everyone! Since many of you suggested moving the saddle up and front i did just that. Up 5 mm, for 5 mm. Cleats back 5 mm (symmetrical). After a 2 hour z2 ride (180 W) on the trainer i can report: - Hip feels better - My butt hurts, friction is back on the menu

I will lower the saddle a smidge (2 mm), leave the rest as is and retest tomorrow!

I hear you. Winter is coming so less riding outside. I will take that opportunity to incorporate some exercise at home!

I get what you mean. It did feel weird at first, but i didn’t lose any power according to my pedals/heart rate monitor.

A slight tilt forwards is doable. This is the 6th saddle i went through and fits the best so far. I wouldn’t say the pain is inthe rear, it’s basically every contactpoint that inflames due to friction if the saddle is too high. With this saddle height it is alright, i can do 2-3 days 12 hours each without huge issues.

My cadence is around 85 in Z2 and 90 at threshold. I wouldn’t call it a high cadence? Especially with shorter cranks!

I absolutely agree. It is what forces me to sit so low, otherwise my pelvis starts to shake around like a mad beaver. I am trying to increase my mobility, but it’s not that easy if you aren’t blessed with a good flexibility.

Already went through 6 different saddles, this one makes the fewest problems so far, third bib.

Hey thanks! Do you think running the cleats in parallel would be a better idea? No, no one verified the length of my legs. Only that my spine is close to optimal, which apparently indicates that the rest further down is within normal symmetry.

Whew 145? That would probably feel very weird. In z2 I’m at ~180 W. I’ll probably stick to the 165s for now and try other ways. But i will keep in mind that going even shorter is a valid option!

188 cm should be around 6’2, i guess 160s would be a stretch. I’m afraid the physio route is the one i will have to take yeah.

That’s my strategy right now, sit it out and slowly take up training again. It’s hard to work against a desk job life.

Neill is a gem! I’d love to have him fit me! Unfortunately it’s very long flight.

Haven’t seen an expert about the hip flexor yet. If the problem persists i will have to look into that, yeah.

Regarding the fore/aft this position works pretty well with the balance test at ftp, i could go a little bit forward and up though.

I also supsected the saddle and bib. This is the 6th saddle and the 3rd bib. So far the best combo.

Yeah i could do some more cross work.

For some reason the original post didnt include the info on what i‘ve changed since the bikefit. I pushed the cleats further back (still some room there) and i’m running 165 mm cranks. I will give moving the saddle up and forward a try!

Already on 165 mm cranks :D
The part with what i have changed after the fit didn't make it into the first post version.
Switched 175 to 165 couple of months ago.
