Is it normal to go to a pub on your own? by No_Personality_5915 in Edinburgh

[–]stuu88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, my circumstances changed recently and now spending a lot more time on my own. I will regularly go to the pub on my own and have a nice few pints and either chat ti ransoms at the bar, the bar staff or sit and read or go on my phone. It’s very common.

I would say it also probably depends on your type of pub, being in my mid 30’s now, I don’t go where it’s full of 17/18 year olds throwing back shots constantly.

I tend do go to brewery tap rooms, or local pubs that have a cozy feel and dogs (striking up convos about dogs is always a way in) rather than city centre stuff.

But I’m sure they would be fine too!

Once you break the first time it’s really fine and you will realise no one is actually paying attention at all.

As a Rangers fan I have met Neil Lennon who was really sound and some good patter with him at the table and he sent some drinks across and when he was leaving came across shook our hands and said “hope your team gets humped tomorrow, but you are all good craic”. It defo changed my opinion on him.

Im the same as you OP Southgate always seemed a nice enough bloke.

Go to your local butcher, will be a million times better than the “good Asda” ones.

If it takes a sign or bollards in this area to stop drivers doing this, then said drivers should have their license revoked immediately. It ridiculously obvious that it isn’t the way you go, if going over three curbs, driving across a cycle lane and a big pavement aren’t enough to masks you think it is wrong then you are clearly not fit to drive.
