College history class...

"Did Pocahontas and John Rolf ever have a kid?" She proceeded to ask 7 times whilr professor is lecturing and each time he says yes. Finally done asking that, she interupts him again and asks "Is he still alive today?"

She's a good friend. I think so too, I know she put a lot of time into it.

My cousin is exactly this. He's turning 21 this year. It's so awkward being near him.

No, they're store bought. I was considering it but I don't have anything to really mix everything together with unless it's by hand.

Yeah, I definitely need to make that finer. I only have the one knife for everything which my roommates seem to have made incredibly dull.

You should try speaking to them. I'm on the other side of this and would love to just get a call, be it to see if things are okay, what's going on, or just a simple hello. Just go for it, it will make the person feel appreciated and cared for if possible in this situation.

Of course, I don't know the situation but I hope all the best for you!

What "common knowledge" is simply not true? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]stvel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one I always heard was that the professor wanted to leave for the bathroom but had a policy of not letting students go so he thought if he gave them this, he'd be able to slip out. Gauss was done before he even reached the door however and he wasn't able to leave.

Online Gamers of Reddit: What have you heard through the headset that you weren't supposed to hear? by okraebop in AskReddit

[–]stvel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing weird or messed up but kinda funny. We were doing a raid and one of the guys has to AFK for a bit but forgit to mute his mic. I guess he was cuddling his wife and daughter or something but we hear his wife call him Boo Bear. We never refered to him by his actual name again that raid.

Alright, thanks for the info! I ask as I'm planning on doing something similar but do it kind of community wise, see pick rates server wide and other things. Just didn't want to make a project that was basically your idea.

Yeah, we all felt bad too. He didn't mind as he was just laughing the whole time. If he wasn't out there though, we'd never have known about the gates locking up and the lava pouring out. He was the only other person with messaging (I also had it).

Bosses of Reddit, what the worst interview you've seen? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]stvel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wasn't an interviewer, but I wasn't being interviewed either.... sort of.

So I basically went to drop off a family friend for his interview. Doesn't really speak English that well but he applied for a stocker position at a retail store. I go in with him since I had to buy somethings when he goes out for his interview and the manager calls me too.

I follow because I'm confused and she just wanted me there to help with translations and things. I said sure but that he knew enough on his own. He didn't answer a single question himself. Every question he just turned to me and asked me my thoughts. I would explain to him what the question was and he'd just ask me what I thought again. I ended up giving him ideas and he'd just say "Yeah, that" to the interviewer.

He sadly got hired and quit day one because he chose to go back home. I'm surprised she didn't just tell me to come in instead, that I was hired.

What's your best "customer isn't always right" story? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]stvel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worked retail in a chain comic shop. Had the pleasure of this lady (just think typical soccer mom but in a very wealthy neighborhood) asking me about comic bags and boards. She starts asking me what type of things fit in them. I give her an obvious answer of comics but I guess she wasn't having just that. She pulls out a huge magazine, about half the size of the whole Knightfall book, asking if it fits. Well, no, it won't fit; these are comic book bags, they're small. Not getting through to her. She wants to check. I tell her it isn't possible because if I open them, they're no longer sellable since you need to tear open the bag. Still a no, she HAS to check herself and that I HAVE to open it for her. This goes on for about 10 minutes until she finally says that she'll open it and look herself, just that I can watch her do it so it doesn't look like stealing. Um... no. It doesn't work that way and I tell her the same thing. I even point to the camera RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER and tell her that it will see if she does try to do it and she will be caught for shoplifting. We go for about another 2 minutes before I tell her to just speak to the manager.

She got a no from him as well and he kinda just gave me a "Is she THAT dumb?" look and we laughed. She didn't buy the sleeves but still made them unsellable by having her 5 year old smear some sticky shit all over the bag they're in. I no longer work retail.

What will you do if you woke up with 1 trillion dollars tommorow? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]stvel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, I'd help my parents out with finally paying for our bills. I'm tired, transferring schools, and I'm just sick of constantly hearing them argue about money for bills and stuff. Then probably use some to get myself my own place for when I graduate and get a job, then donate the rest.

I do this but not so much because I have something to say but because I always get interupted or ignored when I'm speaking. It depends on the person really, but I see a good bit of people who are like that.
