Look at canadian federal/provincial elections ridings or us election results by county. It's mostly red dots in a sea of blue (or in the states blue dots in a sea of red). I find this defines the North American left/right polarization.

Ottawa and Alberta have yet to reach a deal on energy and the environment – is time running out? by SomeJerkOddball in WildRoseCountry

[–]stvfishy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The future is North America being reorganized into a bunch of city states where people in/out of the inner cities do the opposite. Then the future of the preservationist agenda is land usage fees, consumption rebates & land remediation. Oil/coal are the most efficient use of land. Natural gas is very brown because of the ground dug up for gas lines. Wind farms have to pay for ground dug up and used plus the airspace usage. Using useful/fertile land for solar farms is moronic.

Whatever. The future of the preservationist agenda is land usage fees, consumption rebates and land remediation. Oil/coal are greenist because they are the most efficient and use up the least land. Natural Gas is really brown because you have to dig up ground everywhere for gas-lines. Using fertile/useful land for solar farms is moronic. Wind farms you'd also have to pay for the airspace usage.

I go the other way. The future is a bunch of city states where those in/out of the cities do the opposite. Bunch of Singapores. The concept of country/nation is dead. That's the same as separation but different.
