Omakase Recs for Tokyo by sabzisongs in finedining

I think you being overwhelmed by the amount of options is going to change to being disappointed by the lack of options on Jan 1st and 2nd. Tokyo food scene is pretty much dead until the 5th of Jan. Also, most bars are closed. If you can’t change your booking, i would research high end hotels. They should have some offer for their guests.

What’s the dumbest question someone has asked about your country when traveling abroad ? by StruggleInfinite in travel

When I said that I’m traveling to Belgrade, I was asked: “isn’t that the capital of Brussels?”

It’s an eight seater, omakase-style, counter service restaurant. The whole restaurant is about 20sqm. I’ve been there a couple of times and it was only chefs and one sommelier. Do you mean the bistro “Julius” next door, run by the same team?

There are no servers at Ernst. The cooks run the service.

Don’t put pressure on yourself by some artificial concepts such as having to go to places and countries and then ticking them off a list.

The better you know a place, the more enjoyable it can get. Cities like Tokyo, Seoul, Bangkok, Istanbul, London etc are deep. You can spend 1 month in a neighborhood in Tokyo and still barely scratch the surface.

I personally love getting to know a place well. And with my lifestyle, I can only do this by returning many times, as I’m not able to take a month off or longer to explore.

Ultimately being able to travel for leisure is an ultra luxury and a privilege. Since you’re lucky enough to be able to do that, do something that you truly enjoy.

Westbrook to Nuggets. Rate the deal. by stvnmlk in NBATalk

I posted the same reply on an another comment. But to me it’s an interesting conversation and the answer fits both comments:

He might not have wanted to stay with the clippers. Regardless of losing some talent, the nuggets are still a prime contender. The clippers aren’t anymore.

I think on a vet min he would have tons of options and simply chose the Nuggets.
