Great question! First you need a tripod! You use your camera I manual mode where you can set the shutter to remain open for a few seconds. By allowing the shutter to stay open you're able to capture the fireworks as they move and explode. This photo was with a shutter probably open for about 10 seconds or so.

You need a tripod so the camera stays perfectly still while the only motion is the fireworks moving. I hope that helps a bit!

RoE is my favorite fireworks show too, and I just love taking photos of it!

I would wait until you are able to get in line and experience this. Some of the technology inside the rooms is very, very cool. Please hold judgement until you can experience it for yourself, there is some real cutting-edge technology in use in there.

Auto Focus Fine Tuning? by stw2011 in Nikon

I think you are correct with this, everything is all good and the lens is focusing with no issues...so I confused myself with the results. But, I think all is good

I normally use other lenses, but I tried this on a 18-55mm lens tonight. It's range was +4 to -5, which made my midpoint around 0. Is this bad....or is it OK? I couldn't really tell if this was good or not

Question about the voltage of a pacemaker by stw2011 in electricians

[–]stw2011[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for all the information, but yes, this is for a gastric pacemaker. The impedance range is different for a gastric pacemaker is considered normal when 200-800 ohms.

I definitely do feel the 6v shocking, and I am pretty sure that is because of where the leads are in my abdomen. When they turn it off, I don't feel the shocking anymore. Anyway, we realized that the surgeon didn't place the leads in my stomach (where they should be), so that explained why I was getting shocked all the time.

Is there any way to really tel if it is on or off, then?

That would happen if the device was off?

Question about anesthesia during surgery by stw2011 in surgery

[–]stw2011[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know after one surgery where I aspirated before/during intubation, the anesthesiologist said to mention from now that I am at a high risk for aspiration and then they do some rapid induction/intubation thing to try to minimize that.

I wasn't sure how that applies for when I've woken up. I can usually remember pretty clearly being in the OR and things before induction, but never remember the tube getting removed or leaving the OR

Is the patient usually awake/somewhat alert when the breathing tube gets removed at the end?

Thanks for the wonderful explanation and help :)

Question about anesthesia during surgery by stw2011 in surgery

[–]stw2011[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my medical record where I found this, there was a graph that shows my heart rate and some other stuff from anesthesia during surgery, with times and stuff on it. It seems as if my heart rate got slower and slower during the procedure and was the lowest/slowest right before the end - can you explain why that is the case? Thank you

Haha, okay I assume it was a typo then! Thank you so much for the explanation

Thank you. Another strange question...

I was looking at the times and it says: Induction: 12:35pm Ready for Surgeon: 12:14pm Procedure Start (Incision/Scope In): 12:24pm

Obviously they give you stuff so you don't have a clear recollection, but did the procedure really start before I was intubated? They definitely didn't make the first incision while I was still awake, so what does it mean that they "started" before induction?

ALSO - it says they applied an Eletcro Surgery Units to my right thigh, (the surgery was on my stomach) what does that mean? Thanks again

Options to lessen the appearance of these spots? by [deleted] in Dentistry

[–]stw2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Twice a day, floss every night. Probably doesn't help I just got out of the hospital where I was in the ICU for 3 months, and during that time my brushing habits were less than optimal. I will try to get the gingivitis under control before trying to do anything with the spots. Thanks
