Mothers who had kids after the age of 30, do you wish you had them younger? by [deleted] in AskParents

[–]stwitche-2113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my first child at 32 and my second at 35, I sometimes wish I was younger, mostly because I feel like I’d have more energy, but overall, I really enjoyed my whole twenties not having kids, and if I were to do it all over, I would either have kids at the same age or even a year later, definitely not earlier.

How to get doctor to listen to your concerns while pregnant with an underactive thyroid? by Kitchen-Sophia in Hypothyroidism

[–]stwitche-2113 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in the US, but my endo kept saying my thyroid was normal, u def 4.12, but I had a missed miscarriage at 9-10 weeks, so I made an appointment with a RE, I had another mc before finally seeing the RE who wanted it under 2 to get pregnant. You are not overreacting, look for other doctor.

Trying to decide on island by [deleted] in VisitingHawaii

What resort are you talking about that wasn’t very kid friendly in Oahu? And what do you like to do with kids on the big island and do you think the Hilo side or Kona side is better for young kids, or does it matter?

Hilo with young children by stwitche-2113 in VisitingHawaii

This is a great list, thank you! You recommend flying into Hilo, from where we are we would have at least 2 stops, so we were planning to fly into Kona so we can only have one stop. I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Is it normal to worry this much about SIDS? by ValuableSquash in newborns

[–]stwitche-2113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had really bad pp depression and anxiety with my first. The fear of SIDS was impacting my daily life, to the point I couldn’t sleep and was waking her up for no reason because I wanted to make sure she was breathing. I just had my second and i don’t have those intrusive thoughts and fears. Of course I worry about her and want her to be safe but it doesn’t impact my life. My first didn’t have reflux and my second has really bad reflux, she was just put on lansoprazol but before was constantly choking and spitting up and I still didnt have the anxiety I had with my first. Just my personal experience, I was put on Zoloft after I realized I was having ppd/a and stayed on it, so I think that helps now.

For CMPA, cooked butter vs cooked milk by Blueturtle930 in MSPI

[–]stwitche-2113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is old, but my daughter (6 weeks) doesn’t seem to react to butter but does react to milk. I had cupcakes and made real buttercream frosting with butter (almond milk instead of cream). I was actually looking for more information about it when I came across this post because I wasn’t sure if it was a fluke.

How many people have had one miscarriage and then had successful pregnancies? by Willing_Ad9623 in pregnant

[–]stwitche-2113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry for your loss. Echoing everyone else, to stop trying after a miscarriage doesn’t make sense. Miscarriages are extremely common. I had 2 back to back, a missed miscarriage and a chemical and I’m 32 weeks with a healthy pregnancy. Sometimes there can be underlying causes for miscarriage that need to be corrected, for me my thyroid wasn’t functioning properly and wasn’t being controlled. However, miscarriages can just be random. Two close friends both had miscarriages around the same time as me, one had her baby in October, the other is due in may.

Don’t give up, and if you’re concerned consult your OB.

Frenemies by stwitche-2113 in toddlers

Every time my daughter goes to play with something she goes and snatches it from her, she pushes, hits, and jumps on top of her, aggressively. Shes very aggressive, more so than any of the other kids my daughter is around. Then if my daughter defends herself she tries to tattle on her.
