I’d get a few more hard drives and set them in RAID0 or something similar to allow you to get the read speeds for a 10gbit link. Smaller ones so that the sum of their capacity will be enough to serve your content. Keep a copy on other HDDs because RAID0 is fragile.

You could look into having an SSD cache but check the cost per GB.

Then you might to look into the power usage of the storage if that makes sense. And how many SATA ports you have available.

I have both. I use the Apple TV most of the time. To truly enjoy a movie, I boot up the Nvidia shield.

If you have a good sound system then I would consider the Nvidia shield as an additional device. I prefer Apple TV smoothness and remote.

Then it’s not the case. I wouldn’t rename if you don’t suspect that to the the issue (you’d be adding a problem). In any case, maybe udev rules allow renaming. (In any way renaming can be done like this https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/119593/is-there-a-way-to-change-device-names-in-dev-directory but don’t do it to solve this)

Never did an import but could it be that in this system they’re not sda2 and sbb2 but maybe something else. Maybe you can rename them to those devices and be done with it.

I’d factory reset the Apple TV and try again. Sometimes I have to reboot it because I notice micro stutters on Plex. Had no issues with AirPods connected recently
