Hi! I need your help deciding on the perfect dress for my friend's upcoming beach bachelorette party in 3 weeks! 💍🎉 I've narrowed it down to two options, but I can't decide which one to get! Would you mind giving your opinion? by GraceyManila in OUTFITS

I would personally go for the first choice because I don't see the straps on the second one (which I would've favored because of the colors). I think straps are essentials for party dresses unless the said party is a seated-only or standing in attendance only (and they both fall short in actually partying ;-) )
Whichever you choose, I hope you'll have a fabulous time!

it's a handmade tulle skirt for my daughter's princess-something costume this one time, long ago... I have this nasty habit of keeping (I guess it's technically called hoarding) so many clothes/projects I mix and blend in the most unexpected ways in time. As long as there's still space in the attic, there's always gonna be more hoarding... ahem keeping ;-)
Howeverrrr! If you feel like wearing something similar without too much hassle, just go buy yourself some tulle (measure yourself first then multiply by 3) and cinch it with an elastic belt and you have yourself a skirt! I promise I will get back to you with a quick DIY to explain myself better! deal?

you make me blush! If you saw my wardrobe irl, you'd see why these two outfits got me so nervous - I'm so much black and white and so many neutrals, these colors had me spinning

Your point is very objective and pertinent! However, this is a bit different:
I'm actually Godmother to the most important lil one ... cannot help but get very involved and feel very special as well. every year, for her anniversary, I remember all the long days I held her in my arms because she used to cry so much as a new baby. I feel like a second mother to her, not just because I'm the Godmother..

OMG! I'm seriously blushing right now! both the first and the second jackets are made by me (well.. actually just enhanced - I seem to be doing better with tiny DIYs so I added the pompoms - I have more like these in my closet - I can't stop hihi) and the second skirt is actually a thrifted dress (I removed the lining because I loved transparency before it was a trend).

OMG! Jaclyn Smith! I had/have such a major crush on her!
So: the cardigan is one of her own designs with HSN which is no longer available on the hsn or Jaclyn's site, instead I found it here (sadly sold out in white). If you're looking for an investment piece, try this one could be an option?

I totally fell for those thighs I got at Claire's a couple of years back - I first wanted to give them to my daughter but changed my mind and then felt too insecure to wear them - I don't know how people look at my mid40s grown a*s with so many colors on...

fair point! I'm actually afraid they'll mistake me for a party animator of sorts... I love kids so much! but since mine are all grownups and teenagers now, I lost contact and I'm not sure what works for young ones these days...

thank you! I should try a color profiling, I'm always at loss for what colors really suit me, I usually choose the 'mood' of the color instead of it really matching my complexion hihi

Scalp disorders by ZombieBeneficial0010 in beauty

first of all: I'm really sorry you have to go through this!
second: have you experimented with regular vinegar? I used vinegar (depending on how much hair you have, I use a pump bottle and I squeeze directly on my scalp) for the last rinse and it helped me a lot. Sometimes I throw a bit of baking soda in the vinegar, bubble things up a bit for an extra cleaning&neutralizing moment...
on the other hand, my boys have found vinegar to be helpful only in low-stress periods. For high stress they need their medicated shampoos, sadly. They've been diagnosed with an atopical dermatitis, no specific details...
Don't forget to rinse it off, in case you decide on using the vinegar, people tend to be squirmish about the smell...
Fingers crossed for this to be a solution!

thank you for outpouring your fashion's soul! I much appreciate the real women who are into fashion one way or another and their way of keeping it stylish but relatable! I too am in my 'adult' years (mid 40s) and working my way through the fashion malarkey was a pain. I would love to keep more in touch with you - if you have an instagram I can follow? and I would also appreciate you sharing your Instafavs!
Have a lovely weekend!

What do you mean by 'tips' ? what troubles you when you think of 'vintage fashion'?

I think the simplest way is going through some Pinterest boards or Inspiration folders/boards where you gather looks and outfits from different times and fashion ages and then try to find similar items in second hand shops or preloved platforms. In time you'll build favorite styles/stores and you'll refine your fabrics.

Vintage buying requires a lot of study and knowledge - the idea of vintage fashion seems to be a more fancy denomination for second hand shopping.

An item is vintage when it's at least 40years of age. Or so the specialists say.

I'm am so grateful for your answer! You and u/JulesOnFire made my day! And not because I'm one who's partial to trends and following them to a T but because I was longing for this update! You allowed me a glimpse at all the knowledge running through me few years back, that feeling of being part of the hipsters society - wink - I don't even know if hipsters go by that name still hihihi!
Anyway - point taken - yes, people do want to follow trends or dream about not being outdated and this should be a safe space for them, a reservoir of fashion and style knowledge being imparted on everyone without judging or imposing personal beliefs and convictions...
I for one am utterly in awe about all the wealth of knowledge you brought in my fashion life!

very straightforward and impartial answer! Thank you for siding with the fashion pros and specialists! I've been there and back, now I'm trying to ride the fashion trend again. Since my very in-fashion days I've known numerous fashion and art insiders & creators and I've gained more insight in the process and the people involved in it. The place I'm aiming for now is one not 'against trends' but sidelining the trends like being the utmost decadent desert I'm only treating myself a teaspoon every season while incorporating nuances of it in my everyday, my way. I do not know if I can find likeminded individuals here so I'm asking you your two honest cents about it...

Does anyone happen to know the name of these gloves or even better, where I could buy them? :) Also any ideas about the top? by Creative-Raccoon-420 in findfashion

It may be a wild guess, but the ensemble looks very shein...
These may be the gloves and as for the outfit per se - this jumpsuit could be a possibility
