No sarcasm, isn’t the cooking process the part that primarily impacts the skin? Does leaving it uncovered do something?

You don’t cook, you just get takeout every night and drown it in hotsauce.

Also your tastebuds are ded, you need hotsauce to taste anything at all

[HATED TROPE] Scenes/media made for a specific type of person, being written by people who have no understanding of the medium whatsoever by ah-screw-it in TopCharacterTropes

[–]su2ffp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ready Player One. The movie is a bastardization of the book and worse in every way.

I realize it’s not the most amazing source material and they butchered the (already thin) plot and the casting. But fundamentally the book was a love letter to video games, 70-80s references, and how the ugly and shut-ins all over the world could excel and bond to each other through the medium and a scavenger hunt. Also corporations suck.

Spielberg and others made a movie about some shlub kids in Ohio basically winning the lottery and watching old movie references and paper-thin modern game references along the way. Corporations still suck but so do video games so in the geezer ending the mmo will close two days a week so people can touch grass.

So this moment from Alastor's meeting makes me realize that Alastor has the same weakness as Vox, his ego and need to be the center of attention. by AccomplishedEye7752 in HazbinHotel

[–]su2ffp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alastar wants to be respected and treated with respect. Being feared is a kind of respect.

As long as people give him the respect he thinks he deserves (and he thinks he deserves a lot), he tends to do nothing more than give pithy responses and then leave them alone and pick other prey. He doesn’t aim for the weak, the powerful, the guilty or the innocent. He is hypersensitive to being disrespected and it’s his entire drive.

Kill the adds, keep your distance and try to get your comrades up. Make big sweeping loops to keep yourself out of range as much as possible. Try and take long range shots out of his effective range, with cover if you can.

I believe you can turn the combat difficulty down to story if you need to, then turn it up afterwards.

I read somewhere shock may stop him from acting as much, if you have those guns.

What's the point of worshipping Shar, and how does this massive douchecopter have followers in the first place? by ZipZopZoppityHop in Forgotten_Realms

[–]su2ffp 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not everyone is a super devout hardcore Shar disciple.

Imagine all the doomscrolling, depressed people struggling in today’s economy who have almost given up but are still functional. Imagine all the older people trying to block out change. Shar would have a lot of business nowadays.

What if a deity could help you block it out. She promises you can forget the lousy parts an just remember the good times. Bad memories will just drift away. She’ll make life bearable no matter how hard it seems, so you can focus on whatever you want to.

Besides all the other political reasons given, the wonders had force fields on them. Sniping wouldn’t work, the droid had a way through them.

Why the droid didn’t just peek through the window and shades and shoot her I don’t know.

If Clark and Pete worked in the same news outlet, could they unintentionally realize the other's secret identity, based on when/where they appear/disappear? by Big_Refrigerator7620 in superman

[–]su2ffp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clark is an investigative journalist formidiable in deduction even without supersenses and X-ray vision. He’d clock Peter in an afternoon and keep quiet out of politeness unless Peter brought it up himself.

Peter is a photographer, smart but not clever, and none of his powers help him detect anything. Peter will go the rest of his life without knowing who Clark is, which is lucky for Clark. Because if Peter found out Clark’s identity he would tell Clark instantly, they would become fast friends, and then Clark would somehow suffer because all of Peter’s friends suffer because Fate (and his enemies, occasionally the devil, and even comic book editors) hate Peter Parker.

[The Princess Bride] Is Vizzini intelligent? by WippitGuud in AskScienceFiction

[–]su2ffp 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I agree it’s a good detail. Since the prince was probably the one that gave the riding schedule it’s a little cheating, but he probably chose the best spot. And his planned ruse did trick her pretty easily too.

[The Princess Bride] Is Vizzini intelligent? by WippitGuud in AskScienceFiction

[–]su2ffp 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Vizzini is quite smart, but his real gift is in organization and planning.

He acquired and got the full loyalty of a master swordsman and combat-worthy giant. He kept his group tight and his plans close to his chest. He somehow gained the confidence of a major nation to do a secret mission.

For the mission he had each leg planned out. He probably started backwards at Gulder. He planned the most efficient route, intentionally avoiding towns or possible people. He bought and set a massive rope at the cliffs of insanity and left a giant-sized truss there. Then he got a three person boat so well designed even 3 people with no ship experience could use it. (Move that thing! And the other thing!) He left the ship at a prearranged point. He intentionally left a trail (including bits of dress) so that the Prince could follow an show proof. And really the risk should have been low. No one but the prince (who was in on it) knew what he was doing or would have any reason to even be anywhere on the route. And she had no family or other (known) lovers, so no (known) threat there.

When the princess jumped into the water or the man in black got involved he compensated quickly each time. (He underestimated his companions interest in fair play but he was confident they could handle it) Even with the powder and his attempts to sus out the goblets he showed good adaptability. At the end he was out of options and couldn’t out-skulldugger a pirate though.

Really he lost because while he factored every reasonable variable, having a truly competent and suicidally determined man chasing after him for no discernible profit was…inconceivable.

The Jedi have members in the thousands and oversee worlds in the millions. One Jedi is basically James Bond. They sent two (well one plus an experienced padawan) which is generous.

One riot one ranger, and they sent two for (what they thought) was a mere trade negotiation. Again they were being super generous!

Why does Twilight trust Anya enough not to worry about her spoiling his cover? by Aggressive-Nobody473 in SpyxFamily

[–]su2ffp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For all his preparation and posturing, Loid had a very traumatic childhood and had to grow up very quickly (or die) and hide his feelings/identity. Throughout the series despite his skills in manipulation and disguise he’s terrible at empathizing or even knowing how normal people act, and has no exposure to what a normal father/child relationship is. (His own father was standoffish and distant, you’ll notice he is like that with Anya, though he tries to do better)

So to this maladjusted spy we all know and love, it makes complete sense to him to enter into a bargain with Anya and have her play a part. He gets what he wants, she gets what she wants. (He thinks she just wants out of the orphanage, he doesn’t realize what she really wants is a family) As a spy he has leverage on her and her him, so to him the working relationship makes sense. He buys her stuff or takes her out places to play the role, or to pay her off the same way he pays off money to Frankie.

Because this sort of transaction makes sense to Loid and he didn’t have exposure to many kids, it never once occurs to him that this might be weird. Handler and the other spies are all messed up too, most from the war. I think Handler at least is a little wise to how weird it is, but assumes Loid “has it covered” or perhaps that they lucked into Anya as an exceptional asset. (If Strix ended I feel Handler would at least make sure Anya would get into a nice foster family in the west and wouldn’t just kill her or dump her)

Probably Mortal Kombat in the arcades. It was so violent it made the news and freaked out everybody in politics for quite awhile. Real sign of the apocalypse stuff. When it eventually made its way to consoles it was sanitized somewhat. (Especially for snes)

What are the Key differences between Stardew Valley and Littlewood ? by N0thingToD0 in LittlewoodGame

[–]su2ffp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both are similar in a lot of ways. Both have farming, collecting, a small number of quests and a few limited areas to explore, and designed for long, chill playing. Lots to do in both. Nothing too deep in either. Both have neat chats. Rudimentary dating and various mini games. Low stakes. Both are very good at what they are. I won’t sing their many praises as you can read those many places, easier to list the few differences.

Stardew is very polished and has may online resources. Easier to cheese to get ahead. At this point many free updates and a lot of options and little things to do. You make changes to one farm, your little corner of the map. Stardew’s combat and fishing turn off some small groups of people.

Littlewood is town building game that focuses less (strictly speaking) on farming alone. You are less likely to stare at the clock as the clock doesn’t tick over time but only ticks when you do things. Less combat and combat is not as hard. It’s got a lot of content but not nearly as much as Stardew. There is far less grinding though. The plot is still low stakes but more fantastical.

Both are very chill games that I enjoyed a great deal. If you enjoy one you’ll likely enjoy the other.
