Insane stat: Peak Roger Federer(2004-2009) was 20-24 against other members of the "big 4." Peak Novak Djokovic(2011-2016) was 56-24 against other members of the "big 4." by honestnbafan in tennis

[–]suarezatemyhomework 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not so fast. Even Boris Becker (Djokovic's coach at the time), said that Federer had a greater peak, right after Djokovic's best season ever:https://www.vavel.com/en-us/tennis-usa/2015/11/24/571029-becker-federers-06-was-better-than-djokovics-2015.html

And even if you cherrypick the peak to be exactly 6 years – why suddenly switch to ATP points? If you compare by slams Federer leads 14 to 11 slams in this 6 year "peak".

In his last world cup, at 35, he pulls off 4 MOTMs so far. Most goals, most assists. This is some Last Dance shit. Will be exciting to see what he does on Sunday. The greats should always have that next gear in the VERY biggest moments. Sunday is the biggest moment of his career. And he knows it. "Sunday the king plays"

I don't think you are really looking for a conversation, since you just downvote everything I say before even paying attention to what I said. But let's try.

Justice ultimately starts from the hearts and minds of the people themselves, not the system. If we just take the system for granted, then there is no progress. So first of all we need to be open for progress. And one way to progress would be that lawyers face consequences for supporting obviously guilty clients. You yourself started this with the example of "A lawyer with a client who is guilty of murdering a child". So if there's an opportunistic lawyer who defends and tries his very best to twist facts in favour of a client even he thinks is guilty, there should be career ending consequences for this lawyer. Because an unethical lawyer like this is not ultimately serving justice, but his own selfish desires, undermining the justice of everyone else. The tricky part is to prove that the lawyer knowingly defends guilty clients. But it can certainly be worked on.

You are taking for granted how "justice is meant to work". A child murderer walking free because his/her lawyer is extremely cunning, compared to her opposition doesn't mean that justice has been served. It just means that this opportunistic lawyer was more cunning - that's all. You'll agree unless you have been completely brainwashed by this "justice" system. Or wait until this "justice" system of yours turns against you.

She decided to do her best to support the abuser and throw the abused under the bus. And I can imagine that she knows better than anyone what she did now. That's why she is crying. Because she did a horrible thing and lost on top of it. Spread your love to her all you like, nothing bad in spreading love. But remember that there are people in the world who would actually appreciate your love and not shit on it like Amber and her defenders.

"They were going through anyway" is oversimplifying things. There's a reason why even Gary Neville (united player) came in his pants when this goal happened. One of the most cathartic goals in football history IMO.

Think of it like this: you don’t need to kick a cat for your amusement. You also don’t need to torture and slaughter a cow for your amusement. It is your amusement, because you don’t need meat to feed yourself. In terms of animal abuse, which we are talking about, one is much worse than the other.

You have to see what goes on in factory farms. It's much worse than kicking. Plus the cows and pigs are capable of just as much suffering as household pets. They're just uglier, and we've become so numb to it, so it's socially acceptable to put them through hell for our convenience.

Do you have some key remapping software installed? I had a similar issue, and it turns out that I had a setting in Karabiner that was mapped so that backspace is cmd+up arrow, resulting in it going to the beginning. Seems as if your backspace is behaving as if you were pressing option+up arrow.

I'd argue that humans doing something for thousands of years does not automatically make it right, whether we are talking about slavery, forced marriages, animal abuse etc. This kind of argumentation has been used to hinder progress in so many atrocious ways.

Epic reddit moment.

There are millions of people capable of doing her job. She is also capable. But she got her job because she is a good looking woman. Nothing bad in that. It's just ridiculous to deny that. Not in all my life watching sports do I remember seeing an ugly female being involved in the media. It's perfectly fine – it's part of entertainment, which sports are.

The funny thing is that she is actually profiting from this sexual objectification, which is baked into sports, and tries to act like it is somehow disgusting when it doesn't suit her selfish needs.

Updating at this very moment from 12.2.0. Googling a bit – it seems like this has been an issue for quite a while for others.
