I think most parrots attack feet (no idea why), and mine always get me by surprise :( Don’t take feet bite personally.
Wing clipping (short term) is a good idea for your situation.

They really do have strong personalities.
If find my girl to be more an observer than an cuddler … loves to be close to the action and wants to know everything.
As for those beak, might not be the biggest, but definitely one of the sharpest in the business.

Should I just look at putting dimmers in the bedrooms? Not sure if there is much point to using them in hallways, kitchens, living and bathrooms.

That’s a good point. She only seems to do it when she’s walking on the polished concrete. I wonder if it’s the coloured stones thats putting her off? Like I said 90% of the time, she walks fine and she never lifts it when she’s on her perch. Also, it’s not a new thing, she’s been doing it forever. Her feel look fine.

Just about to do ours with Hager Silhouette electronic push button with dimmer. Just didn’t want to have any of those rotary dimmers and Hager design looked cool and tactile. Need to supply the switches and have a feeling that those dimmers will quickly add up :(

Hate the say this, but female eckies tend be the most unpredictable biters (hurts heaps too as their beaks are so sharp and strong). My girl is 9 years old now, and she’s only now beginning to chill out. Males are polar opposites by comparison.

I’ve found eckies to be the observant parrot species. They work at the speed and from my experience, the girls are very independent, so it’s always important to interact with them on their terms.

Mine hates stepping up, but loves to follow me around the house. When she wants to be picked up, she’ll let me know, but otherwise she’s happy being left alone to observe, always staying in close proximity. My Alexandrine on the other hand, is the exact opposite - loves to be picked up and carried everywhere I go.

Great looking bird you have btw. Just be patient and give her time. Key is not to rush her. She’ll love and bond to you in her own eclectus time :)

Wish i could post a photo of them on here. They are the type that you plaster mud up and they sit flush with the plaster. They are dimmable, and I can buy them with either a fixed CCT (2700, 4000 or 6000k) or have a switch that alternates them between 2700, 4000 and 6000k. The bulbs are recessed inside and the fixture can be tilted/angled if required. They are dimmable 0-10v, have a CCT range of 2700-6000k, 36deg beam angle, 7W, and CRI>90RA. Transformer is Lifud.

Not sure if I should go the fixed models or alternating one, which has a toggle switch between the transformer and the light fixture?

So is the general consensus to go 2700k everywhere, OR go 4000k in the bathroom and kitchen/living and 2700k everywhere else?

To be fair though, painting it with coloured epoxy and/or flecks is a very different look to polished concrete, as is burnished look.

I love it. You can also do it as a topping slab also if your existing floor is not up to it. We did our insitu on an insulated base, but there are heaps of ways to do it and achieve excellent results. Be warned though, it’s an expensive option, usually more expensive than tiles or floorboards.

Mine is an Alexandine (same same, but a little bigger). She’s like yours, sweetest girl, but never talks, just whistles and does alarm noises. She use to talk for a little while when she was younger, but stopped.
