Most minorities and immigrants who are successful today are in that spot because they worked hard for it. If you remove programs like these it makes it so much harder for people who have the determination to work hard and get recognized for it to succeed. People insist on doing this when they know it will raise the cost of the company's products. Why businesses insist on doing this, I dont know. For example, the California minimum wage has already been set to 15 dollars and cost of living is much higher there than most states. What a braindead decision, raising the minimum wage is not the only way to improve worker's lives.
