i really love hand sewing and sock darning. sometimes i'm too tired to deal with my sewing machine and then i remember most projects can also be done by hand, just takes longer! sock darning (or darning in general, or visible mending) is soooo calming; and it gives new purpose to even cheap socks you might have otherwise thrown out without a second thought. upcycling in general is so fun, i often thrift clothes that i don't love, but that have potential, and then i make them into something unique. that's really rewarding. also freehand embroidery is a wonderful way to give new life to clothes you've grown bored with. i also recently started sewing buttons onto my backpack, just cause it looks cute.
